Bill Irvin my Brother! I understand...I got to experience first hand LEAPs drops out of my old C-130’s based at Pope AFB next to Ft Bragg NC! She’s a dependable airframe and proven T56 Allison’s! I miss the naps .. as soon as we was airborne it was music to my ears... a asst Crew Chief needs a little bit of rest before the Hours of inspection and repairs.. preparation for the next mission! Our mission... was just Training!

We also have few of those mules, great machineries, here in Romania! Few years ago I saw such a training with low passings, hard turnings, fast liftings and SOF paratroopers . It was unschelduled but interesting. Even now I can't understand how a big plane could turn in a few hundred meters..

Back in the 60's the USAF had a demonstration team called the Horsemen. They would do a barrel roll in the C-130. I saw them. I spent 6 years flying them the 70's . Two years in Viet Nam. I have been in that attitude and it is not scary at all. Just part of flying.
@engineerahmed72484 жыл бұрын
It was actually an aborted roll-which would certainly have been unsafe at that low altitude

Story time Last night me and some family were laying on our trampoline My nephew screams "THERE'S A PLANE COMING" also before I tell the rest of this story I wanna add that me and my family were talking about how cool it would be if a plane crashed in our yard. Continuing the story now. I kid you not this jet wasn't 50 ft off the ground and barely missed our trampoline. Scared the shit out of us. A few seconds later another extremely low flying jet flew by the other side of our yard. Then a massive c-130 flew about 70 ft above the ground right above us and then about 30 minutes later that same c-130 flew back over, once again probably not above 70 ft. And then 3 hours later at midnight that same c-130 came back. It was an awesome night!
