Living between Hamburg and Kiel I saw these big Birds frequently fly by, sometimes at very low level. Their Homebase was Hohn near Rendsburg, about 30 miles to the north from here. Now the Transall ist retired, their Squadron at Hohn (LTG 63) ceased to exist, Base left as a substitute. I miss the deep hum from the huge Props when they fly by. Bringing Back some Memories. Awesome, flew as a pax in the SAAF C160 plenty of times during my military service, loved flying in them much more than the C130, especially during a combat decent using the air brakes, your model flew beautifully

Nice model. 20 years ago PSS flying was a must around Lisbon slopes. From jets to wwII planes, anything goes. I had a GWS zero, which was spectacular after I took out the motor. My last PSS model was a Robbe nano jet L39, with only one not very sucessful flight, as a PSS model , back in 2015

Very nice. Fairchild's (similar) C-123 Provider evolved from the Chase XG-20 glider design, so this 160 without engines isn't so far-fetched.

Having spoken with the cargo crew they're not bored with the lifestyle, as they get to travel and... use a bathroom enroute (unlike the fighters).

You have a great place to fly? Wonderful PSS. How much room in the back do you have for landing? Can you DS there?

Thank you. There is quite a good landing site but I’m not sure if it’s possible to DS there. I was flying off the North face which is relatively steep. The South slope may not be steep enough to DS . I’ll have to give it a go sometime.

I got it from a swap meet for just £5! It hadn’t ever flown but had mounts for two IC engines. Unfortunately they didn’t have any cowls around them so I chopped the mounts off. I recon it will still fly great even if I made up some dummy cowls.

I don’t really know anything about the model. I bought it second-hand from a model swap meet for just £5. It was probably originally a kit as it has a fibreglass fuselage.
