XCS’s. I love them!!! My XCR is on rails in turns, less darting. C&A proskis are the best!

Great video! I put XPT’s on my XC and love them. They will dart a little when the trail is extremely hard, but once the snow softens up. They are perfect!

they do work really well.

Id like to see you do a video on general snowmobile maintenance, things you learned over the years that make it easier to do the jobs.

Should add the bolt on rudders to see if it actually makes a difference in mid day snow
@Levi_LaVallee Жыл бұрын
Rudders! Oh shoot i thought it said rubbers. I was super confused. lol The fins on the side helped in snocross with pushing in the turns. I've never ran them on the trail or off trail before but I'll have to try it and see what they say.
@ajbertelson9871 Жыл бұрын
@@Levi_LaVallee well looks like you may get an opportunity with this snow. Could aim a go pro, mount on the A-arms, at the rudder to see how much snow directs off of it.

@@Levi_LaVallee Seems Skidoo had a Ski you could change the Keel depth by screwing a knob in and out.. I can't recall what the Reviews said about them.

I have 10" wide dual keel Simons Skis on my Yamaha Attack they bend like a snow ski and give you more suspension Supposedly. I have 8" wide Simmons Skis on my Skidoo Renegade X 800 .. I need a 600 CC sled to enter in the Cross Country races.. and I have no idea what ski is best for that. I just run studs up the middle of my tracks for easier steering .. I use 4" of Carbides on the outer keels and round wear bars on the inner keels. That Attack really needs the 10" wide skies to stay on top the snow. Both sleds hit something that destroyed one stock ski ..

They Cross country come with XPT skis on the 2023. They bite but are very forgiving.

Great video again with a great product you didn't say which one was best for water skipping😂

lol . that usually not a common topic.

Nice video as always. There is a lot of tech involved with skis. Would you agree the rear traction/transfer of the sled tells you what the front needs? Back in the day we use to bolt up tunnel protectors under steel skis to get the same effect. C&A should make carbide placement more tunable. 50/50 of the carbide under the spindle and tune from there with ski spindle or saddle holes. Do you prefer a little oversteer?
@Levi_LaVallee Жыл бұрын
Haha thats awesome! probably worked pretty well with the tunnel protectors. Yes I would rather it oversteer than understeer.

Do you think the XCS would be best suited on a Assault 146 on trail? Currently have Polaris grippers, I’m looking to get C&A’s over the summer.
@Levi_LaVallee Жыл бұрын
They will bite harder for sure. The width of the XCS make it harder to tip up but it also makes it more difficult to get on edge if you want to carve. IF you don't carve they should work well. Or the XPT

This season I put a set of XCS’s on my 850 assault 146 and it really changed the steering effort. But after a few suspension tweaks they were dialed in for my riding style. The sled goes where I point it!
@Levi_LaVallee Жыл бұрын
@@jeffhess9779 The XCS bites hard and with that the effort goes up for sure. What suspension change did you make to help with the steering effort?

What you think of running dorsal plates for trail more of that powder trail days or first one down after a snow fall
@Levi_LaVallee Жыл бұрын
I haven't ran them on the trails or off trail but ran them a bunch in snocross and where i noticed them was when we had really soft snow. It would still push a little but it felt like would almost pack the snow outside of the ski which would cause it to turn. I should try them on the trail and off trail and see what they say to me.

What are your thoughts on Gripper skis?🤔
@Levi_LaVallee Жыл бұрын
I have only ran them on mountain sleds so I cannot speak accurately about them on trails.

Do you have to shim the xpt’s on a trail sled like you shim the stock skis? Thanks for the vids.
@Levi_LaVallee Жыл бұрын
what do you mean by shimming them?
@joestallbaum1593 Жыл бұрын
@@Levi_LaVallee , the tips of the stock skis hang down causing uneven carbide wear and darting, putting pieces of hifax under the rubber on the back of the skis lifts the front of the skis greatly increasing stability. I’m a moderate trail rider on a 21’ 850 Matryx, thinking about the XPT’s for next year.
