U know what this is gotta be one of the most underrated song and video of all time. Back in the turn of the decade u would not think of rap and a girl with crazy vibrato mixing well. Thus is actually a pure masterpiece. 1. The rapper is fresh, has a cool attitude and can dance! With incredible 6 or 8 pack. U will not see rapper with great dance skills now. And he makes power dance moves with some hip hop it's insane. I can't find anyone to compare too.2. The jazz hip hop dancers are legit and are so coordinated and skilled. 3. Those 3 guys dancing when it goes here we here we go are so cool. 4. The beat, the rhythm, and variety of every sounds from different instruments comes and mix together perfectly with freshness, and creativity 5. And the girl , Omg, she just adds another dimension overall its a masterpiece from dance, singing, rapping, sets, sounds. Your sensation will be overwhelmed in a good way.

Those days were it. Those clubs rocked back then. The 90’s was a dawning of a new era of hope imo. The music so uplifting and there was a sentiment of moving into the future and leaving the old hurtful past behind. A lot of the music was based on the principles of love and togetherness. I’m lucky to have experience it.

@@talkblacktvgive’em a break, 😂 that can’t be Freedom speaking in third person!! 😂😂. One thing though… It’s really interesting to revisit the old times and actually hear how skilled that generation was, as far as Hip House which this song really is for East Coasters, he was dropping cadence, structure, positive bars, well articulated, this shit was over our heads back then, this whole camp was focused.
@talkblacktv Жыл бұрын
@@TheStickyLabel Bru…this was NOT ahead of its time. I remember thinking when it came out that this guys rap was whack and nearly ruined a good song if it weren’t for his deep tone. Now I think it’s cool bc it’s a club classic and all, but I still think he as a weak rapper with a great voice. He wasn’t doing nothing Curtis Blow or Grandmaster Flash didn’t do way before him, just different back/beat.

Paying homage to the classics, in the 90's, was amazing. To hear it 30 years later is even more amazing.
@MinekEzQM Жыл бұрын
No sure what you mean by that. It's no paying homage. It's using elements of it. Late '80s, early '90s (and not 90's) style was like this. Mainstream producers took the underground sound of the era (hip-hop, hip-house, piano house etc) and amalgamated it with well known mainstream sounds like funk or jazz or disco. Madonna ('s producers), C+C, Kylie Minogue ('s producers), and many more followed the recipe.

@deviantdrummer462 Robert Clivillés & David Cole also produced hits for Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Lisa Lisa, Deborah Cooper. Sadly one of the team developed AIDS and that was the end of their hitmaking. (David Cole died 1995.) .

I would sell my my soul to turn back time and spend one nonstop 3 day weekend where i had the knees i had when i was in Calii dancing to stuff like this from 89-93. This was my life every weekend during those years... I was invited to Dance on The The Party Machine with Nia Peeples and met The Red Head KingPin. I would die a Happy man... ....

How was funk (from '70s) soul (from the '60s), hip-hop (from the '80s) amalgamated in a song in 1990 ahead of its time?
