I think the most genuinely impressive thing about Joseph Kucan's performance as Kane throughout the entire franchise is that he's not even a full time actor. His main job while working on all the games was actually in being the Casting Director at Westwood. It's just that when they were making Tiberium Dawn, they just had him do some placeholder footage as Kane for reference while they searched for someone else to play the character. At some point down the line though, they just said "Fuck it" and let Kucan play the part full time because no one else could do as good of a job at playing the character. And thus one of the most iconic villain performances in gaming history was born.

Someone should create a 4th alternative timeline game that continues after this. It will be interesting to discover the life on earth after the divination. What will the relationship between GDI and NOD be if humans survived and evolved as Kane expected? WIth that super Tiberium bomb, the Scrin is bounded to show up

I am still mad to this day that Westwood didn't give us a Mutant campaign.

There's so much more they could do with the series. The Tiberium universe is ripe with potential to be explored and it's a criminally underrated story.
@eudaimonistic4 жыл бұрын
In principle based on the other events of the series, after the divination missile the Scrin should have showed up in a matter of months or a few short years if Kane himself didn't find a way to contact them himself. Assuming Kane somehow wasn't in the picture at that point, I don't think even GDI and NOD together could have stopped them with so little time to prepare. This ending is the "Earth gets farmed" ending.

The way I understood it is that the whole world is turned into a tiberium rock and Slavik basically foreshadowed it, when Ummagan told him, that Divination is death and he answered "Only for the weak". NOD believes themselves to be the strong, including Slavik and the strong in their eyes would evolve into Mutants to thrive in a Tiberium World and rebuild humanity in harmony through and with Tiberium as Resource. The weak die, but that solves, in their view, probably some overpopulation issue that future humanity in that universe might have. Imho the only plothole here is that Oksana refers to Ummagan as disgusting in that one scene, she and the mutans are basically, what NOD strive for, the NOD commanders imho know full well, what "Divination" in truth is, they're in on it and not betrayed. Maybe NOD scientists also somehow prepared NOD members beforehand to easily adapt to and survive Divination, hence they're all so calm about it, because then they wouldn't view it as a gamble if they'd die or mutate and survive easily. I would've liked if they went with another game into a post-divination world, Humanity, united after Divination (if ruled by NOD or not) fighting off the Scrin who just try to harvest them and their world. But it is EA, of cause the good guys, GDI, hat to win like in every Hollywood Plot. What imho post-divination could look like is ironically answered best in the game Rimworld. It has a Tiberium War Mod that gives you NOD and GDI as factions and makes Tiberium Wildlife being a thing, tiberium appearing, transforming the land and animals and you can either go with GDI and GDI tech to try to contain it and fight it back or you can go with NOD and NOD tech and adapt to eventually thrive through it. Because I think if somehow GDI would survive divination, maybe like some kind of disunited guerilla groups who are vengeful for Kane destroying the old world and want to destroy NOD by all means and fight back Tiberium, restoring the world to it's former state pre 1995, they wouldn't be too happy about all of this. And NOD would probably view it as sacriligeous of some GDI "Terror Cells" would create little blue zones where with technology they fight Tiberium back and live a pre-Tiberium life.

I miss Tiberian Sun so much. All the actors in the FMV cutscenes in this game really gave it their all and it shows. It doesn't feel corny or forced. It really feels like an actual movie. The later games seemed to really miss that and got a lot more corny and the dialogue just felt so forced. The exception being Red Alert 3 but that was supposed to be funny. Joe Kucan deserves an Oscar for his performance as Kane.

Wish we could have seen a continuation of Westwood’s story from this game. I’d have liked to have seen what they had in store when Kane turned on his devoted yet gullible Nod sheep and whether GDI and Nod end up fighting Kane, possibly with or without the Scrin. Although they kinda did that with the ending of Firestorm, where Kane and Cabal are the secret team the whole time which explains they lack of dialogue between each other in TS. I’d like to think Kane has the Chronosphere from Red Alert and has been travelling through history with it, trying to set himself as a God, even though he’s some power hungry guy... possibly the biblical Cain who killed whoever went back to that era with the Chronosphere and stole it from them. I don’t think he’d be an alien. I think he may have tried to fuck with the Scrin who probably saw him as person of interest from afar and wanted his Chronosphere or something, or he stupidly contacted them and they just saw an opportunity to assimilate Earth as their own.
