FYI When I met Frank Klepacki, he told me that his album Infiltrator is left over tracks from Red Alert 3

Nice, but, technically, this track never ended up in Tiberian Sun, just in its promotional materials. It was used in C&C: Renegade, though.

I love the Command and Conquer series and I've been playing since I was a little kid. The music is awesome and I'm still amazed that I got to see and meet the composer Frank Klepacki when he played live with a band called The Tiberian Sons. Anyway, there's an open source remake of Red Alert that has a ton of modern quality of life improvements that I'd recommend everyone check out. It's called OpenRA and can be downloaded and played for free at www.openra.net/ The first four games will always be special to me. Spent so much time playing campaign missions and playing with friends over LAN and online. Does anyone know if Red Alert 2 runs on modern PCs? Red Alert 2 is the best one.

Nice to see some appreciation for Renegade's OST. Good OST. (It's not from Tiberian Sun, it's from Renegade, that shooter spinoff people don't talk about apparently.)
@Fellwurstchen5 жыл бұрын
this track was made for Tiberian Sun but they thought it doesn't fit the atmosphere of the game (ps it was used for the Trailer of the game). They later put it in Renegade in.

@@Fellwurstchen Ah, I didn't know that!

Now this might be wrong but from what I've just read, the original track wasn't used in C&C Tiberian Sun but in C&C Renegade instead.
@MEMUEROOO5 жыл бұрын
Mmm i remember hearing it in Renegade, but if im not mistaken you are right. This track was used in the Tiberian Sun Trailer but never in the actual game. Then later they used it in a mission in Renegade

Pretty good. Genesis was always good at delivering that gritty guitar.
@audi19825 жыл бұрын
So if the Mega Drive didnt have to share sound channels with sound effects, this is theoretically what the Mega Drive sound chip could do? Why didnt the hardware designers just add more sound channels to the original MD design?
@ChiptunedRaijin5 жыл бұрын
Not theoretically. It's 100% realistically possible. I'm not sure why people think you need to sacrifice channels for sound effects. Most games never did that. They'd just play a sound effect over an instrument in a low priority channel, then the instrument would start up again when the sound effect is completed. The same applies to the NES, Turbografx, SNES, and every other old console.
