Agree 100% with what you are saying. I use an iphone with mine and have experienced many of the same things. Mine is stable in the air and flys great, but you must maintain visual line of site because the video feed will sometimes cut out for 15 seconds at a time even when the drone is near. The one thing I can say about the battery meter is that it does work, but only in 20% increments so you would go from 100% to 80% to 60%... Not good. If they ever fix performance of the app it would be a nice little drone for the price.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the new app version for iOS and Android has a new “WiFi bandwidth” option in the settings thats supposed to help gain a better FPV image feed. It’s not to be confused with the “WiFi channel switch” in the settings. Totally different. Just thought I’d put that out there for you to test it out.

THANKYOU for a brutally honest review, other reviewers often gloss over faults rather than go into deep detail about them. you gained a sub, im known for being brutally honest, often told im too honest so im loving your honest review style, i actually found this vid because im looking at buying this drone, i will hang on for another few months to see if there are any more improvements before splashing out, thbkfully i have an sg906 pro to fly in the meantime.

Great video. I learned my lesson after purchasing the predecessor of this model. Never ever buy a cheap drone. The warranty sucks! First issue the compass wouldn’t calibrate. Flew it without calibration. It flew well enough. Then the motor stopped mid flight...I though “bird strike” but nope. The motor just stopped working. After back and forth for 2 months with the company...I was offered to buy the parts at a very slight discount. Opened it up, found a the wire was shorting out due to poor build quality. Forwarded photos of the cut wire due to manufacture. (The wire was over the hole where the body attaches and cut when the body was mounted.) No support again. After trying to solder the wire myself (it’s very thin) the motor would again cut in and out. Another KZbinr sent me one that he received for review. He couldn’t review because the gimbal wasn’t working. I managed to get the gimbal unstuck and flew it for a couple of weeks. Then it went rogue. Without any control inputs from me it flew off and landed in a small lake. It was a fully charged battery and kept descending and wouldn’t turn around. Luckily no one was nearby to get hurt. It did enter the water with barely a splash...like it was returning home. Gave the spare one to a friend to mess around with. Saved up for a DJI Mavic Air 2 and have never looked back. Will never buy an introductory drone again from some company whose higher end drone product is something in the category of the C-Fly Faith. Save your money...buy quality from the start.

Very honest review. Sad that you had a bad experience with it. However, just to let you know, it really doesn’t need to be calibrated. Mine picks up satellites right away and doesn’t toilet bowl like yours in the video demo... The app does require a bit of TLC for sure, no doubt about it. And I do know that they (C-Fly) will put out a firmware update-not sure when but hopefully soon.

Thank you, I still wonder if maybe I happen to get a defective unit, still waiting for an update to see if I can fix some of the problems. The flight experience is much nicer when flying with an android has the app does run a lot smoother

@@AirPhotography That could be one possibility. There’s supposed to be another app update coming soon. But I think that a firmware update is most likely needed. With me, the iOS app works better than on the Android version on my phone. But then again, I’m running an older Android operating system. I think that if they can fix these issues via a firmware update, this drone could have a chance at showing us some of its hidden potential.

To calibrate every time, after hitting calibrate button just ignore what the app says and turn 3 times horizontally and then three times vertically. It will succeed every time. Be sure drone is no farther than 1-meter away from phone when calibrating.

Just an idea here, but for those having connectivity issues for example, is your iPhone 802.11ac compliant? It would be interesting to try an iphone that is compliant to see if it makes a difference.

the video they sent me ...was drone on first ..wait 15 seconds ..then controller. I've had no issues since following that process. The OF camera seems way to small and when trying to land on a bright object ..landing pad ..or in my case a large white outdoor table ..it gets screwy. Grass landing ...no issue. Exposure settings flat out don't work. But the rest of the app works for me

I don't have some of the problems that you noticed. I have the application displayed in full, there are no problems with the battery indicator. But sometimes the camera control does not work, you have to check before the flight. I also don't like the camera effect - the middle is light and the edges are darker (vignette). It's not noticeable when you shoot in summer, but in winter you can see a color distortion on a white background - the middle is blue and the edges are pink. The recording can turn itself off during the shooting process. Otherwise, there are no problems.

Great review Sean. This is very similar to the issues that I've experienced with Banggood's version of the original C-Fly Faith. As you say, if the drone would operate as promised, it would be a good value.

TBH, I have had multiple problems with wifi on my iPhone (not with drones, but in general). iPhone wifi connections are touchy to say the least, and reconnecting is an even bigger pain. I frequently lose connection to my home wifi and other wifi enabled devices. In some cases I've had to delete the wifi profile for the device and re-add it from scratch.

Looks like a SPARK knockoff but the SPARK batteries would charge in an hour or less and I have seen other reviews on this drone and they also had problems too.

I'm glad I bought the funsnap diva now the video 1080 2k 4k only a 2 axis eis tho but it works straight out the box although it does need a few tweaks in the app but I'm happy so far

I have watched several reviews of the C-Fly Faith 2 drone and yours was the only negative review. You said early on that maybe you had a lemon and that happens. Was you ever able to confirm if that was so or not? I apologize if you covered that possibility and I missed it. One of the reviewers actually said he had never tested a C-Fly drone he would recommend and was surprised that he would recommend it, for the cost of course. I am just starting out and know nothing so please don’t interpret this as criticism that is not my intention. I am seriously trying to educate myself and these reviews are one way of doing that. I did not even get to fly mine because from the beginning the was pop up telling me that there was something wrong with the motor that moves the camera. I could not fix it. So I spoke to the store that sent it to me and I am waiting to see what they are going to do. To tell you the truth, I do want my money back.

I have this one and the only real problem I have had with it was getting the android app to open but I got that fixed. Mine always connects, always calibrates and does not freeze up when recording or stopping recording. The one thing I did notice was with the battery life. it goes down in 20% increments and seems to be behind at doing it so this is a dangerous issue they need you address.

This drone has been upgraded twice as of 4/6/2021 still as some android problems but not so much for ISO platform ....hope this helps

I also facrd to the dark screen, it may belong to the IOS wifi setting. Sometime the apps will ask me to select using mobile network or continue to use the wifi connection. After i selected the "Continue the wifi".Th screen will restore to normal.

I think that it is a good drone. However, you are right. The apps need to be fix the bug or enhance the function. I am using Sony Xperia XZ to play this drone. However, Android phone cannot use the sim data while i connected with faith2. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

That could very well be however there are a few other people I know who have them that are experiencing issues. I think a lot of my problems our iPhone related but I’m confident they will be able to get these corrected with a firmware update

You have to power the drone first before powering the controller you will have connection issues.

Tengo problema similar con cfly faith 2 luego de 3 dias tratando de volarlo no he podido ya que al conectar control drone con aplicacion se queda pegado en inicializacion de gimbal por lo tanto no vuela. Muy decepcionado con la.compra ..a diferencia de un sjrc f11 4k que me ha funcionado perfecto

Yes indeed it is definitely an iOS problem but either way they need to get that fixed I was there are many people who use an iPhone. There are still some issues with android however but I know there is an update firmware coming soon
