Thanks for all the tutorials you did so far. Did you already explain somewhere how to compare sensors? Like in this example at 5:07 we have Eyeball that has range of 50nm and binoculars with a range of 18nm. You could say that eyeballs are superior to binoculars but I'm sure it's not the case. I would assume that some sensors even with lower max range give some bonuses to identification. Is it true? How to check that?

So in this case the eyeball sees at 1 to 1 what a target's visual detection range. Very few targets have excessive visual detection range. The magnification of a visual sensor dictates how much farther away you can detect a target. E.g. 2x zoom a 5nm target is now detectable at 10nm. This ability is limited out to a certain range as shown by the 18nm limit. You try to find something 18nm away with ebonics somewhere in the sky, it's a nightmare.

@@PGatcomb Ok, but where can I see what magnification the binoculars have? That 5x in "Model" column is just number of sensors not the zoom level.

Great tutorial... So am I right in understanding Active Sonar is more useful in shallow waters perhaps near coastal areas or like in straits etc? Where there basically isn’t a layer? Anything with a layer is bad because the active sonar won’t penetrate?

Thing is with airplanes you have to micro to get the buddy lasing working.

Been watching your tutorial series to see if I want to get the game on steam. I also saw that their is a professional edition, what is that is it the newest release of CMO or is it command modern air and naval operations

PE is an advanced version of CMO designed for defense agencies and major military contractors. It isn't as consumer friendly as it's more of an analysis tool.

Okay, so it is not the steam edition correct? Also, which version do you show in your videos? Is their any difference in functionality or database entries from steam edition to PE?
@PGatcomb4 жыл бұрын
@@andrewchisom6856 I use CMO from steam in my videos. PE uses the same database but has a database editor so agencies can make their own adjustments and add or remove elements.

@@PGatcomb I greatly appreciate your answers, just one last question. Is their a community discord I could join to learn more and get help on the game for a beginner.
