BTO waiting time is 5-6 years now. Suggest to buy resale flat first, at the same time queue for BTO. Resale flat can choose location, level, direction, etc actually not bad too.

K妈,我今年60岁了，两个儿女長大结婚搬出去住,所以在今年我刚申请了一间三房式的新组屋比较容易打理卫生,新屋子可在2024年入住,可惜的是拿了新屋子后才知道不久的将来蔡厝港登加新组屋单位将采用无横樑室内设计空间会更宽敞，屋主还可灵活调整单位格局,就箅是拆墙打通两个房间中间也不会留下看似突兀的横樑,我觉得这个设计真的太好了。

Miss Karman , 5 room HDB flat is not the biggest unit in SG. We have mansion HDB flat n Jumbo HDB flat. Mansion HDB flat is double storey flat also known as 6 room flat . It have 5 bedroom plus a dining hall n kitchen. Jumbo flat have 4 types= 2 times 3 room flat comby. 4 room flat plus 3 room flat comby. Double 4 room flat comby. 5room flat n 4 room flat comby. So the biggest jumbo flat can up to 5500 square feet or 500m2

Prefabricated housing have lots of problems after years, like water leakage, built-in electrical wiring (can't pour water on the floor) HDB have been studying the possibility of centralising the cooling system. I think the toilets floor are wheelchair friendly (stepless) for older folks.

@@samaxya2534 I would like Singapore government keep some distance with PRC. But it seems Singapore invests a lot in mainland China in different areas. In the last 30 years 'economic first police' from the Chinese government makes ppl forget what CCP's true color is. But that's not a good idea to have 100% cut off all relationships. In the long term, we should keep on trying to change this country. It is not only benefits Singapore but the whole world.

Yes if you compare to the older generation models. The older generation Type 4A flat is really big and spacious. Much larger than the new generation 5 Room. Some of the old 5 Room flat even have a balcony.
