So glad I found this channel. I'm wanting to model the section of the CNW mainline from Clinton to Cedar Rapids that I grew up along (albeit in the early 2000s, long after CNW folded) circa 1975-1980, and your fleet and how you model is a huge asset to help planning my future layout.

Thank you very much, that means a lot! You should also check out a channel "cnwtrain" if you like how I model, you'll definitely like his work!

I love the first generation Geeps. Walthers has been doing that for a while now on the Train Line stuff. No grabs. But those units do run very well. I got three of those GP-9s 4549 , made one 4544 and have plans for the other two. Your Locos look fantastic. I'm still trying to weather the louvers as good as you. Think I have a technique figured out. Been looking forward to this upload, thanks man. Keep it going.

I knew you'd enjoy this one so that's a big part of why it was a separate part! Send them to me, I'll do the louvers for you, but seriously its pretty simple. I think we talked about it a few videos back didn't we? I guess I can probably do a quick video on it. Not like I'm an expert but it seems to work. As you can see I've only done that on the later weathering jobs, the earlier ones don't have the louvers done too well. Just chalk on those. When's your next video coming out?

The Train line, from walthers, as I understand it, its a slightly cheaper version, hence the no grabirons. That was the explanation I got. As a "Southern fan", I gotta say, those scare stripes on 1663, are BA! Love that scheme.
@CNW10252 жыл бұрын
True, but they are terrific units otherwise, I would pay more to get that same unit with the grabs installed. If for no other reason, then just so that the color would match to the oem paint. They sell the detail kit for $10, so charge another $20 and install them and paint them for me! But I digress, I do like the units. I do have 5 of them now....!

Thank you, that SD9 was waiting a long time to get done. Soon at some point I will be getting back to the SD18 high hood project, you'll probably enjoy that one as well!
