sorry for my ignorance, but would you like to give me the name of the Master and his Dan level? It is a wonderful, as gracious, elegant and powerful embu. Thank you

It's Kusama sensei, Hachidan Hanshi

I have a hard time believing he is an 8th dan. If he was actually using a sharp sword then he would have sliced his thumb off at @7:32. @@Buddybutch

@@aren8798he missed his sword, but defitely not sliced his thumb (I'll watch from the beginning but I think he's using Shinken here). Do you practice znkr iai? No offence just naive question. He's the head of ZNKR Iai so he is some kind of "reference"

You can tell by his first horizontal cut that he has practice and trained a lot. His hand was coming from underneath the sword so he would’ve sliced his thumb off if he was using a shinken On a separate topic, I think some of their art is flawed.

He's moving his hand away from the blade after missing it. After 60 years of training, 50years using a Shinken, and still having his 10 fingers, I think he has some instinct getting away from that type of dangerous mistakes. In this embu, he's demonstrating kime over pure technique, hence the mistakes

It would be nice to see something else than seitei kata every now and then. They are the most basic thing you can probably show...

Do not whine and do what you think you can do better.

It's not about quantity but quality. So, it doesnt matter the kata.
