What an interesting format for a book and beautifully written. Your presentation in promoting your book is also highly commendable.

I watched and listened to this post quite a number of times now, and realise I was somewhat distracted by unfolding events when I first watched it and didn't say how much I enjoyed it. Your reading is quite lovely, full of expression and definite intention, your words detailed, picturesque and in places moving. The descriptions of war injuries and deaths brought me to tears, more than once, and you know, often they were not yet men, but boys. I enjoyed your presentation immensely. I wouldn't change a thing. You were perfect. 🙏🏼 ❤ Wishing you success.

With Latimer and Ridley, Cranmer should be included, too! Lovely work as always, Alice. Best wishes from Oxford. X

Very interesting to hear about C S Lewis early life at Oxford, also you can see why he became good friends with J.R.R Tolkien as they both enjoyed similar things. and although I'm Oxfordshire born n bred it's very rare that I visit the city these days.

A very pleasant setting, Miss Alice, Idyllic even, though today I am still mourning the 11 little girls & 2 adults stabbed in what was once a safe homeland for us. And look at the life of Jack, how from such tragic young manhood, he still contributed very well to us all. As a boy I loved The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, the 4 children and Aslan. As I became a man I read his other works, Mere Christianity amongst them. Thank you Alice, and thank you C. S. Lewis. My grandfather too spent WW1 in the trenches of France, returning home worse for wear, and served again in WW2. I'll share some of the tragedy of War. Do you know when the British people finished paying off WW1 ? WW1, not WW2 ? In 2019 ! Do you know why ? Because the note holders, (bondage notes) agreed to accept a 4 % perpetual return on their loans after WW1 and when renegotiated after WW2. For over 100 years the children and grandchildren of the victors paid 4 % interest to the note holders. This means every 10 years the middle class paid 40% of the cost of WW1. In 100 years we had paid the financial cost 4 times over, but wait, we had never paid the Principle, only Interest. And, note holders were not mums and dads, No. Over 80% were in a handful of names. Names kept private, because whom the people are indebted to is personal isn't it. Now, this is not the end, just the middle of the story. The names, seeing beforehand that a new round of 1970s style inflation was about to be created, employed their appointed agents in Parliament, to sponsor a Bill, to finally retire the WW1 debt, and this was couched in the terms, and I quote from Hansard ' It's time to do the right thing'. . . . But that's not the reason. The Bill passed, the un- named names received their Principle, and everyone went back to sleep. The real reason the debt was retired after paying 4 x the Principle, was that the names knew that a new inflationary, (devaluation) program was to be enacted, through massive currency creation. This would reduce the value of the Principle of the bond note to virtually worthless. The time was at hand to redeem the cash, and place it in an asset class that would weather the storm of the currency destruction we are now experiencing, which I assure is neither an act of nature or God, but wholly of uninhibited and unrestrained fiat currency creation. Do any readers know what asset classes have a hope of weathering the devaluation storm unleashed upon the people ? So there you go, a little story about the tragedy of War, and how it impoverishes generations.

Excellent comment on the financial and rapacious ravages of modern war. Thank you. What asset classes do you mean that protect one against inflation ?
