They each got 2 minutes per question. when President Trump interrupted Biden after the first question it should have been open disc because Biden had already gone over his time. Wallace let Biden just keep talking. during the first open discussion Wallace let Biden talk most of the time. he would tell President Trump hold on and then look at Biden and say "go ahead sir". during President Trump's answer on the second question Biden laughs loud twice and then cuts in. it was still the President's two minutes. TIME IT! I don't blame President Trump for taking over. He wouldn't have gotten his point across otherwise. listen to their substance. Joe wouldn't even answer basic questions.

I've long thought that this was an EXCELLENT debate. Very civil, good questions, excellent moderator (too bad she passed on). Joe Biden, even though I am a conservative, proved he is capable of debating. but it's amazing how much younger he looks here! Can't believe it! I really want to say though, Sarah Palin's performance in this debate was truly wonderful and totally underrated. She got her point across, she was detailed, she was poignant, compelling, concise, civil, she was great. They both were very civil with each other though, and that was the best part.

Yes, Biden is older and talks slower than he was in this debate, or in 2012 when he faced Paul Ryan. However, don't underestimate the man. In 2008, it was his debate to lose against Palin, and he executed a deliberate game plan that made him look presidential, and someone people could trust to assume the presidency should something happen to Obama. In 2012, in my opinion, one of Biden best moments came on the question of abortion. Ryan went into his anti-abortion stance, and I could see, based on immediate polling going on during the debate, that his view was not a popular one. Biden then answered that while he was personally opposed to abortion, he did not feel it was his place to tell a woman whether or not she could have access to one. The immediate polling numbers show strong approval for his position. He knew, or at least understood, where many votes feelings were on the issue. In other words, don't automatically believe that Trump - he's not immune to massive brain farts, either - will walk all over him.
