Ingredients
Maida -1cup(240ml ) or 12 tbsp
Semolina - 1tbsp
Sugar - 1/2 cup (-1 tbsp)
Salt - one pinch
Cardamom -2
Vanilla or Pineapple Essence - 1tsp
Baking Soda - 2 pinch or Baking Powder 1/4tsp
Egg -1
Ghee or oil -1/2tsp
Colour - opt
Oil - for frying
Method
Take 1 cup of maida/aata in a bowl. Add 1 tbsp of rava. Now add ¼ tsp of baking powder or a pinch of baking soda. Mix well. Add a pinch of salt. Mix well.
Beat 1 egg thoroughly and add ½ cup of powdered sugar (put in batches) and a pinch of cardamom. Mix well. If not cardamom you can add vanilla or pineapple essence. Add a drop of yellow color (optional).Add ghee. Mix well.
Add the egg mix into the maida/atta . Make a soft dough and keep aside for 2 hours. Keep a wet cloth on top.
Now roll the dough into a cylinder roll. Cut the roll into small batches. Make a cross on top of the small dough. Make the cross with the tip of a knife. Now we need to deep fry these dough. On low flame we need to fry both the sides of the cake. The oil should be the right temperature. When it is puffed up and golden brown you can remove it from the fire.
