1. sinking sand is rare, and generally not really dangerous, as its usually just a shallow pool of "liquid sand" (watery mud) that dosnt go that deep and youll be able to stand in it. 2. what makes it hard to get out of sinking sand is the vacuum that is created when you try to move up... so barney creating water as he tries to move up could actually help

Its a thing but its not nearly as dangerous as its made out to be in media, where as it could be dangerous if you were dumb or played around in it, but other wise its no danger, it doesnt just sink you in for walking through it, and you dont get instantly grabbed by it just for being to close. Its more like a mud, that as you move it sucks you deeper, but you gotta try really hard to get sunk enough to become dangerous...

Don't know about that back-seat DM stuff, but John or rather his in game character is unbearable in this campaign. I mean, he plays a generally unhelpfull, smug know it all character with no patience for exploration and a wierd fixation on Elga (for some reason) and on top of that, he has a very bad french accend with even worse pronounciation. To me, that sounds like a purpousfully bad character, maybe that's part of the character developement and the character gets more bearable or even likable over time. :D

@@mandernachluca3774 that's what his character is supposed to be. the character is very capable, but is in a party with two goofballs and a child. if he resolved every problem then he would make the campaign boring. his smugness and mild disdain for his companions is a part of the character. He strikes a chord with elga because she is the other person who is very focused on the task at hand. Chip also is pretty fixated on elga. they explained all of that during the episode between episodes. jon is also the brother of the writer for the campaign, so i would imagine he probably has spent a lot of time playing and DMing , and he may have some insight on the campaign. Jon is trying to do a fairly hard accent, and is a graphic designer by trade, not a voice actor. dumping on people for their roleplay because their accent isn't perfect is what causes most people to not want to roleplay.
