C10 fuel filter not filling up. CHECK OUT THIS FUEL FILTER. Is the new fuel pump bad? WATCH TILL END

I assume this should be full or at least half way full on the C10 350

Mine was vapor locking when it would warm up. My cooling system needed work plus blocking off the exhaust to intake crossover passage helps if it's boiling in the carb I recently learned .

Great news!!! It worked. Fuel filter is now full, and it doesn't die on me at stop lights. Shiet it goes faster too because now it's getting the proper fuel

Don’t worry about how much gasoline is in the filter….. worry if your vehicle is running properly. different engines use different amounts of fuel different amounts of fuel will be in the fuel filters just worry if u see specs of dirt in the filter, then it needs to be changed, remember after dirt gets past the fuel filter there’s no filtering system that’s built into a carburetter carburetters do not have filters in them so change your fuel filter when you see dirt in it What’s in the fuel filter as far as the amount of fuel is not the important part ,important thing is if see the engines is running well without bucking or stalling or smelling rich, if so then you’re fine

Was thinkin the same I got a 350 in my MC , and lets says when u driving and hit a red light after coming to a complete stop , and press on the gas to get the car moving on a green light , the car starts to bog// choke // hiccup // when u try to give it gas after that little choke up the car drives ? I hate to sound like a broken record, but same thing here….! I have a 1971 Karmann Ghia with a brand new 1600 motor… I put this exact same filter in line and I cannot even see gas in the filter. My car runs like a scalded ape … I don’t know how it’s running at all when it is running, you can see just a dribble of gas every once in a while in the filter, it does not stumble or stall… But I cannot figure out why the filter will not fill up even a little…??? I found this…👍🏻 THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR FILTER! That is how those filters work on gravity flow systems. If the filter is only filling that much, that is all the filter material needed to flow enough fuel to run the tractor. What you will notice is, as time goes by, the level of gas in the filter will get higher and higher. That is a function of the filter media on the bottom starting to plug, and the gas level needing to rise higher to find clean filter material and maintain the necessary flow. When the gas reaches the top of the filter, it is time to replace it.

Having the same issue on a 80 Ford 4.9 300 CID .... Though I've yet to add the new fuel pump sitting in my garage ... I see the gas barely getting into to my clear plastic filter ( most of the time )

When i see something like that, i usually put a little compressed air in the fuel line to push out stuff clogged in the line. Then try again, if it flowes better, the lines usually have trash or rust clogging it. Might have rust or something , enough of a blockage to cause it. Also the pump should flow about 7-9 psi.

I’m having the same problem after I changed my sending unit in the gas tank. Original one, it didn’t had a filter and it used to be full, then after I changed it to a new sending unit with a filter, the same problem you’re having is what I’m having. I’m guessing it’s the filter in the new sending unit, I’m currently waiting for the gas in the tank to empty so I can take off the filter in the sending unit

Same issue with mine. I did a test. Removed the inlet line from the carb and placed it into a clear plastic bottle. Cranked the car and the fuel was gushing into the bottle like Niagara Falls. I'm wondering if it doesn't like the carb inlet filter which is new. I have not yet tried removing carb inlet filter to see if this makes a difference. To be continued.........

I put the same filter on my 350 small block with a Holley Carburetor same thing happens to me I’m guessing it’s this brand I’ll go back to the glass filter soon but if it’s not hurting anything might just keep it but what was your problem ever figure it out?

I'm having the same problem and I'm also getting a bad stumble when I stab the throttle I'm going to try mounting it vertically I've read that they don't like to be mounted horizontally like this but I've seen them mounted horizontally and full of fuel mine was mounted horizontally a year ago and it was full of fuel and I wasn't having this problem it's also a brand new electric Edelbrock fuel pump I've been trying to figure this out for a while now!

Check to make sure you dont have a vacuum leak after or before the filter. Check the filter that is in the carburetor and lastly because it happened to me, make sure your fuel pump is on right. When i slapped on my new mechanical fuel pump, it was on upside down….🙃 i know thats dumb but it was my first time dealing with mechanical fuel pumps….

Mine used to do this, i think it was a vacuum leak from a warped base plate on the carb, i doubled up the gaskets and reseated it and now the filter fills up fully while idling.

That's a large bodied fuel filter..I have a 460 with a glass filter that's half the circumference of yours..Mine is never fuel..It gets fed when it needs from the electric pump I have..As long as the bowls get what they need to keep up with consumption for the carb your good..How does it run?

It was the lobe on the cam. it worn down. if you look through my videos you will see what I swapped for the 350. Its a beast now!! 👍

IM having this same problem but it's on my 83 Ford F100. It has 2 gas tanks and when I flip the switch for the 2nd tank the gas goes through the filter like that. However, the first and original tank fills the filter up as it's supposed to. Does anybody have any idea whats going on? I've replaced the dual tank switch valve the hoses are completely clean and the gas is brand new with the cleaner in it as well.

I have the same issue. My car is a mazda 323f 1991 hb. My original fuel pump was leaking so they changed it into an electric fuel pump. Basically it turns off while im driving. Multiple times. I checked to see if the fuel is filling up the filter but at times it did (after some time) and sometimes i literally doesnt get to the filter. So its like empty. Pls help :')

I have an 85 c10 with the same issue. I’ve changed the pump. The tank and everything in it is new. changed all the rubber lines. I even put a new carb on it and it still does it. A friend told me to put an electric pump on it and I’m considering it. Did you ever solve the issue? Thanks

Hello Ed, YES the problem is fixed and here's what I found. The tank had some rust although not really a lot but it was enough to keep plugging up the filters. Also the Holley Fuel pump seemed a bit anemic after I installed a pressure gauge after the filters near the carb and also after the regulator. So I bought a new "Poly" tank and a Facet Fuel Pump. I even replaced the entire fuel line too. She is running extremely well and the pressure regulator is set at 4 1/2 lbs. Hope this helps. The tank shocked me because it really was fairly clean. I think the problem was the fuel pump. The facet came with rubber mounts and its so quiet and such an improvement over the Holley. Put a gauge after the filters near the carb. That way you will know exactly whats going on.

I'm having the same issue, except my 69 nova dies at stop signs. I know it's a fuel issue because when I change the timing and make the fuel pump go faster the fuel filter fills up. So...after comparing different fuel pumps from different stores I found that Napa has one with a flow of 40 compared to autozone 25. I'm going to change it tomorrow. If that doesn't fix it I'm going with electric fuel pump

If your running a carb, you only need 4/5 pounds of pressure. any more than that its not going to stay running. Only EFI use higher PSI.

Not sure if this’ll help but I had this issue and it turns out I over tightened the plastic filter and it was constricting both ends. I loosened a little just enough to spin it and it filled almost all the way up. I was stalling out and running very lean before

It is low fuel pressure I would put on a new fuel pump and filter make sure u have enough gas in it!!!
