Got it done! This was exactly what I needed to know. I have a 66' In search of that hard to find hold down bracket but I will make my own now.

Thanks for your videos. You have helped me a lot on sanding and fabrication. I have been working on my 70 C-10 for almost 2 years. Hopefully 6 more months I’ll be finished.

Great engenuity. I would make a top plate to cover up the bracketry, and you're good to go. 👍🏻
@StoutCustom3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah I think you’re right. A top plate would also hide the gap between the radiator and support so it would look more natural.

condenser bracket video?
@StoutCustom8 ай бұрын
I mounted the condenser at the beginning of the video. Just two straight pieces of aluminum mounted vertical from top to bottom of the radiator support with the condenser mounted in between
@daltonminckley592910 ай бұрын
Did you make them channel pieces yourself or can you purchase them? I have the exact same radiator, also going into a square body
@StoutCustom10 ай бұрын
I have a friend that does metal work. I had him bend the channel pieces for me. Worked well but I wish I had relocated the a/c drier and mounted the radiator closer to the support. With the radiator spaced away from the support I really need baffles to direct the air flow. No issues yet but I think it would help in the heat of summer.

@@StoutCustom Got it! That’s some more good info, do you happen to remember the gauge used? I see all star performance sells a set but wanting to check around some more!
@StoutCustom10 ай бұрын
@@daltonminckley5929 I think 18ga but not positive. I’m not sure if I showed it in the video but I bought some thin strips of rubber to go between the bracket and the radiator to keep it from being metal on metal. Worked well
@daltonminckley592910 ай бұрын
@@StoutCustom Yep I saw it! I work at a place that makes parts out of all kinds of rubber and foam so I’ve got that covered at least haha I’ll be doing the same setup as you, I’ve watched a lot of your videos multiple times 🤙

It’s in the videos list. C10 project intercooler install. Thanks for watching!
@brennanmorrow8 Жыл бұрын
@@StoutCustom do you happen to have a link? I see the one that says making it all fit
It’s a griffin performance fit with dual fans. It’s a replacement for the stock radiator and not designed for an Ls swap. The stock replacement was several hundred cheaper than a “Ls” swap radiator. The difference is size and location of hose inlets/outlets and trans line hookup sizes. I had to do a little adapting here n there.

They say necessity is the mother of all inventions. They never met a talented fabricator! Don’t own a TIG and you are right. It is like playing a piano while running uphill, both ways of course!
