Not plastigauge, he used paper and oil, more impressive in my opinion. He turn the crankshaft with the wet paper installed and then check the paper. If all the oil wrung out and the paper is too dry then it's enough clearance.

It amazes me how these guys take engines apart with rudimentary tools along the side of the road in the dirt and remember where all the little nuts and bolts go and make that engine purr like a kitten!…I liked when the old guy came to do the reassembly with the young fellas and checked the clearance on the crank mains…teaching the young fellas!..and they all worked so hard at it!..there was no less than two guys on that engine at any given time and there was at least a half a dozen most of the time…I was glad to see they actually used a torque wrench when torquing the mains down…although I’m not sure if it would matter much because it looked like they reused the main and head bolts…anyways they did a great job!!

I can't un-hear the fact that the accelerated video made all of them sound like Jawas. Jawas rebuilding a Mercedes engine using basic tools. Lolol Great craftsmanship, cool video, love from Turkey!

That is one sweet diesel engine; i would love to put that in a Ford F350 or Chevy 3500 with a manual or auto trans; whatever I could find that would fit.

Such great team work, this is really impressive. May I ask how much you roughly charge for a full V10 rebuild as shown? I am in awe of how well you clean and prepare these motors.
