@@StoutCustom when you paint parts off the truck like a door. How do you move it around to paint the part of the door that was touching the stand it was on ?

Brett Johnson The ideal way is to use an Innovative Tools Ultra Rack. Look them up. They attach to the door where the door panel would be and leave enough room to jamb inside and paint the outside at the same time. They also tilt so you can jamb the inside then lay flat to slick out the outside. Pricey but a must have in a production shop. On this C10 I’m just going to do the inside of the doors then put them back on and paint the whole front half of the truck in one shot. There are other ways to creatively hang the doors and paint in and out all at once as well.

Dave Cherry Painting is very satisfying when it goes right and extremely aggravating when it doesn’t. It’s best to start with something small and see if it’s worth the aggravation before diving into an all over paint job. Give it a shot and see what you think.

You mentioned in your video once, I believe it was the 1967 C10, as you where scuffing some real hard to reach spots that you had a “Scuffing or Sanding” cream or compound. I know it been many moons ago, but is this a thing? Using a maroon nylon sanding pad with a slurry of a scuffing compound like “Ajax” type stuff makes sense to clean and create a tooth. Epoxy May stick but won’t hold on shiny stuff. Just inquiring minds want to know? I do pay attention to little and big things. I have a private file in youtube that I save "Stout Training” that I drop certain videos into. To me, this is priceless to be able to quickly find a technique, product or a build method. Thanks!
