The six cylinder and the TH400 is a very interesting combo. The TH400 was fairly new in 67 and it was GMs big gorilla transmission. most 6s would have been three on the tree or a Powerglide, I have a 70 C2500, 7500GVWR, Camper special, Sierra Grande and it has a 350/350, 400s were rare birds The Dana 44 is stronger than the twelve bolt. Early ones like that had course spline axles, but can easily be upgraded to the later 30 spline. Great video

Is the oil pan going to clear the Axle? May need to put a small lift on the truck to clear it or change motor mounts. I have a 70 that I want to do this to, but Ill probably use 80 square body parts since that's what I have laying around.

By heating the frame to flatten out the emergency brake cable dimples does that weaken the frame any i have a 72 c20 im currently converting only using the 73-87 motor crossmember

Probably, lol. I don’t understand your comment though it takes more than a crossmember. No matter how you shake it those dimples are going to be in the way of your rear spring hangers.
