I used some similar stuff. What worked for me was using Clear RTV from a big tube to attach insulation. A lot easier than the the tape and I used tape on some edges where necessary.

The metal tape works very well. I use it all the time to line the inside of snowmobile belly pans to protect them from the heat generated from the pipes. When I did the heat proofing on the floor of my 76, I used the sound deadening stick on style ( Also available at HD) and it worked out pretty well.

Thanks for the info. I have used the metal “flashing” (the type with metal foil on one side and a black sticky coating on the other) for heat and sound deadening and it does work well.

Your videos are super usefull. I want to use the same thing as using bitumen based products is kind of scary for me because if you have to remove it this is much more user friendly

Yes, the “dynamat” stuff works well, but you’ll never get it off once it’s on.

Time spent on a heat barrier is time well spent on these cars.

Would contact cement work to adhere? Would only need on edges etc? I’m getting ready to do this as well.

I think it would. I’d be thinking about the odor and how much of a mess it might be to remove. It all depends on your plans, short and long term.
