I think you’ll be fine. Like you said, chances are the top is going to be down the majority of the time anyway. I use mine twice a year. lol

if you buy your regulator on rock auto make sure the spring is already attached!!! now I'm stuck doing this without a vice....

@@ryankersell2505 Be careful if you’re installing those springs. It’s pretty dangerous.

I had the same problem. I could not find new manual regulators. I ended up buying a function old one. My spring was in, but she is bound up and I don’t know why. I’m holding on to the original in hopes of figuring out why it’s binding
