Do you put the half shaft on the same side you took them !or does it matter

On My 90 the half shaft's are the same length on both sides, I have heard on early year C4's that they may be staggered but am not. sure.

I appreciate this video as it really helped me a lot with my 87. Did you use a jack or a jack stand to support the transmission before you removed the C bracket bolts? Also, is there a piece of plywood in there too?

I used a jack stand, can't remember if I used a board or not, I actually had to go back and look through the video to see what I used, at about 23 minutes into the video you should see it, I believe I had it under the trans.

Does synthetic gear oil eat through the factory sealant in the C4 differential?

No never heard of it, I have always used an rtv sealant over the years with synthetic and never had a diff leak, this time around I gave this a try shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/permatex-gear-oil-rtv-sealant-3-oz.-81182/7740016-p?product_channel=local&store=5538&adtype=pla&product_channel=local&store_code=5538&gclsrc=ds seems to work great, if you are in a hurry use the Right Stuff that sets up fast.

No not with out doing a lot of fabricating. Totally two different rear suspension designs.

Could you just take the differential out from the front with out taking out the batwing?

I have herd of someone doing it, but in my opinion it's better to take the bat wing out with it, makes it easier to seal and put in the diff fluid.

You remove it at the cats. I had to take mine down to change the clutch. I have a 92

If your just removing the differential on a 84 to 91 the cat back exhaust starts just past the tail shaft, unlike the 92 to 96 witch is a totally different exhaust just like the ZR. Now on the 92 to 96 that's a different story.

For just taking the diff out you could get away with taking the exhaust apart at the resonator on the 92 and up c4.
