I use a density map to define the perfect hair line, while being loose with my polygon selection. This gets a nice hair line, while keeping the hair count down for comb over styles.

15 Minutes here saved my day ... i was looking for hair-sim-tuts for about 2 days allready and they all were not as detailed as this one. Good job and keep going ❤🙏

This is an absolutely brilliant technique! I'm new to the hair tools in Cinema and was having a really tough time controlling the shape of it. This technique simplifies it so much because you only have to worry about styling the guides as opposed to all the points underneath. This is so clutch! Thank you so much.

Hi Dan. Thanks again for the video. Just want to add regarding your Fill Selection Dilemma where you have the face boundary selected in the hair density maps and disappears when you do the fill selection. The way to do this is to press SHIFT and run the fill selection. This way you select both the existing selection and the new fill selection.

Thanks for the video, can we do this on a low resolution model and get good results? I noticed yours is quite high res.
@CGDreamsTutorials6 жыл бұрын
When it comes to low resolution models this is where you may want to use either a new hair cap made from re-topology, or select excising polygons from the low res model and extract it, sub divide it and use that as a cap. There was a case recently where a character I made didnt have enough polygons for eyebrows, so I did what I said above. I used a surface deformer to keep the high res brown stuck to the low res for face defomation, but for hair cap you can either weight it to the head bone or use a PSR constraint to the low res character.

Honestly, I dont know what I'll do without your tutes, I'm currently working on eye brows myself and that exactly is my problem, thanks man, really appreciate your tutes.
