The stock one is led. The new one does match the taillights with the inner led bulbs. I did the same install about a year ago.

Mine was a lot harder than you showed, the bolts were very tight and self taping on new light whach was super hard. I wound up going thru licence plate area. Thanks for the info.

Chris you may have bought the last one available. I also too have been looking and not having any luck finding any with a red lens. Tons of clear and smoke lenses. Looks good. Hope to find one myself.

Just letting others know this job is much much easier if you remove the 4 license plate frame screws instead I learned this the HARD way after trying through the driver side inner tail light only and not being able to tighten the RIGHT side nut for this..after a bruised/scratched left arm later I removed the 4 license plate frame screws and the brake light is right there…

I remember the day you brought the vette home and boy has a lot of work been done since then on it, sure is looking good and I bet the last owner wouldn't be able to even recognize it now....good job Chris, keep the video's coming buddy!

Great install and a very very nice looking addition to the brake light ensemble. Good mechanics go by feel as many times those pesky bolts or nuts are hidden in tight fitting quarters, as your camera picked up very well. I did not realize that there was so much empty space between the bumper and the body behind those great looking tail lights. LED's are the way to go.

So Chris I installed the side marker LEDs and for some reason they work just fine but sometimes the running lights in the rear won't work and after a while they come back on have you ever experienced that or anybody else

Did you have any issues with installing, because just got mine and when I tighten it up the bar leans upward like it's not long enough to fit thru the bumper. But it's supposed to be flush with bumper. Do you have any suggestions ? I tried washers and still upward lean .

I just changed mine 02 to LED 3rd BL (all ready did tail lights a month ago w/hyper flash mod). now I'm getting a TCS active handling light checked the code and itsC1295 Brake Lamp Switch Circuit Open. Did you run into this? or do you know of a fix? BTW I enjoy your Vids helps a lot and makes it less scary working on the Vette.

I’ve never heard of auto headlights in a C5. Only manual on/off.
