C6 Faruzan was not what I expected... Genshin Character Review!

I’ve lost count of how many times people told me they have not built their Faruzan yet because they don’t have her C6. Practically everyone seems to think she’s completely unusable without it.
Meanwhile, for an entire year I used my C1 Faruzan regularly. She was great! I even had her at C0 on my alt account, and she was just as useful there.
While pulling for Xianyun, I finally got some Faruzan constellations …enough get her C6 at last. I was very curious to see if it would live up to the hype.

C6 MADAME Faruzan was not what I expected*

Gameplay aside, I liked Faruzan's attitude from the beginning for its story potential. So much fun could have been drawn from it, so I was actually surprised that this potential did not get any use. Her hangout made me to completely forget about it and just simply love her for how she is, a kind of a raw diamond, rough on the outside but precious in the inside. From the gameplay point of view, I did not give her much use. While I do have both Xiao and Wanderer, I don't play Xiao and my Wanderer is there only to fly around and over things when needed. I did build her though so when I was asked to use her by somebody recently, she was ready. Can't really tell if she was good or bad but with the build I have (and remember no details of) she certainly had no energy problems.

I respectfully disagree, while it is true that C0 faruzan doesn’t need 300er with xiao (he generates a fair amount of particules) it is the truth with wanderer because of his poor energy generation (half of xiao’s). Your experience with C0 faruzan was good because your team is full of good energy generators. If you tried C0 faruzan with Bennett and xiangling, your experience would have been very different. ( Bennett and xiangling (xiangling on fav) produce 7 pyro particules and 3 clear, on the other hand kokomi generates on average 13 hydro particules and Layla generates 3 to 6 particles. For faruzan, xiangling and Bennett would give 7.8 energy while kokomi and Layla would give 9 energy at worse and 11.4 at best, assuming Layla doesn’t hold fav .resulting that in a wanderer team (assuming one fav prod and a charge shot funnel) 277 er needed(for her, now imagine xiangling who only has one Bennett funnel)while in your team she would need 256er assuming the same (if Layla had fav it would be 230er))so while it is true that she doesn’t need 300 er in xiao teams, in wanderer teams it is a very real possibility. And her C6 gives er to the whole team, 7.8 energy on it’s own, it’s a lot. And pardon me if there’s a few grammatical errors, I’m just trying my best 😢

Hahaha that's the thing with her; i can empathise with the deep insecurities need for external validation, what I can't empathise with or don't like i the way that turns her into an arrogant and dissimissive person, who constantly needs to remind others that she's better than them and above their station. Granted, that's actually VERY realistic and there are lots of people like that in the world 😅

Her er requirements *can* go upto 270% for people who play perfect rotations, but that doesn't mean she'll *always need* that much. If you were used to funneling particles onto her then that definitely is one of the things that contributed to her having less er issues. For characters that need a ton of er, small er management techniques like funneling can make a massive difference compared to characters that have less er needs, but the issue is that you'll be losing out on the energy that your main dps could've catched. Most of these impossibly high er standards (like 270%) only really applies to wanderer, not xiao, because wanderer generates less particles and he can't funnel particles onto faruzan. So playing her with xiao also helps with the er, but since she was released with wanderer everyone focused more on her value in wanderer teams rather than xiao teams back then. The main difference is that if she has c6 she can funnel particles onto your dps instead of making your dps character funnel particles onto her, which when I say it like that should make it obvious what the issue is, she's more high maintenance than the main carry itself. The crowd control at c6 is also pretty good, because there are situations where xiao's plunges or wanderer's charged attacks can knock back enemies and ungroup them which is a noticeably big dps loss, but that becomes very unlikely to happen with her crowd control ability at c6. It isn't as much of an isuue anymore for xiao since he can use xianyun instead of bennett, which will give him more freedok to move around and position his plunges better. It is then technically just a qol upgrade, but you'll notice how cringe it is to play without that crowd control once you get used to her c6 playstyle. All in all the direct damage increase from c6 is the least of the reason why her c6 is considered important, so yeah it'd feel overhyped if what you were expecting was a massive unconditional damage spike after activating c6. But it is still increasing your dps in aoe situations with the cc, it is making your main dps need less er in their build allowing you to put better artifacts on them, and it is giving you the option to put more damage focused or better supporting artifacts and weapons on her instead off double dipping on er, which are all indirect dps increases coming from her c6. The difference will be noticeable once you make use of these options you now have because of that c6, but without that it's just kinda meh. It's like with the options for building xingqiu, you can build him purely for hydro application or as a sub-dps with good damage contribution on top of that. Both options are equally functional and serviceable if you squint hard enough, but the difference between the two is still massive

5:24 i've even read up to 300% ER XD I think a huge part of the discontent where the abyss lineup back then, we had both PMA and wolflord to shill wanderer but those bosses barely drop energy making her ER problems worse for people with scuffed builds. And then next patch kenki trio return, first batch of consecrated beasts debut & a bunch of eremites, lots of aggresive fast enemies arent really a great experience if you are trying to do a charge attack with a bow user for energy. I also finally got her to C6 thanks to xianyun banner, this felt like a once in a lifetime deal following this game patterns with 4* supports lmao, i have a dream of chev being on the pyro archon banner. c6 actually makes huge difference since you can drop favs in favor of some dps-ish bow and have overall more damage focused build. c6 faruzan in anemo teams can basically be a subdps like fischl in aggravate (if built with golden troupe.) alternatively she can hold tenacity set and provide full uptime on it as well if you have noblesse on 2nd support (e.g. bennett)

Depends what you mean by huge difference - since the teams I use her in can already comfortably clear the abyss, the effort of re-working her for a bit more DPS doesn't feel worth it for me sadly. Mine has 240% ER (with fav), and I've only just got her C6 this banner. Maybe if Hoyo ever give us actual artifact loadouts I'll give it a go!

Despite what people say, Faruzan is still good at C0. I just got her C6 yesterday after using her C2 for ~5 months with DPS Kazuha, Heizou, Xiao, and Wanderer. Clearing the abyss is WAY easier now. The difference is night and day and all my DPS characters are at high investment.

While I agree with the premise that C0 Faruzan is usable, I think you've under-sold C6 by not optimizing it for damage. C6 means she can now trigger around 6 pressurized collapses just via burst, which at talent level 12, means 6 x 216%, which is just free new dmg that just wasn't there before. To put that in perspective, Wanderer burst lvl 9 is 250% x 5. Meaning, at least in terms of raw talent value, C6 Faruzan is at minimum, like adding an entire Wanderer burst worth of dmg (not even counting other new factors like swirls). So the difference is she can go from a pure support build, to being a sub-dps that contributes decent damage as C6. Overall appreciate the video is as a talking point in favor of the madam. 👍

Thank you, I apprecite your perspective 💜 Don't get me wrong, I think her c6 is great and I'm very pleased to have it finally! And it definitely *does* mean that you have far more flexibility in building and using her, I just see all of that as a big bonus on top of her base state (c0) which a huge number of people have been calling completely useless and horrible since her debut 😅 My own expectation based on how people were hyping the c6 up is definitely to blame for my slight 'disappointment' in the end - had I actually done calculations before hand I would've realised not to expect a bigger damage buff which was definitely part of the "oh..?" 😎 The problem with looking at *just* multipliers though is that even if you invest in a sub DPS faruzan, she'll never have the type of build your main DPS Wanderer would have, as even with reduced energy requirements, her requirements are still *fairly* high (I would imagine you'd still want to hover around 200 ER at bare minimum). So unless you have absolutely godly artefacts it won't quite reach wanderer burst damage levels. THAT said, sometimes every little helps, and somethign liek his might just be the difference between someone beating the abyss comfortably or not! For my teams it won't make a big enough difference, so it's not worth the hassle 😁

@saurusness definitely agree about the dmg buff! I was expecting crazy numbers, but then we realize it's only 40% crit, unlike other the other C6 buffers. 😅 And yes, agree that it's not actually as much dmg as Wanderer. My point was more so that the raw talent dmg value is there. So while her stats are lower, she's also doing the dmg off-field. So investing in it even a little bit can be worth it, compared to when she had 0 sub DPS potential before C6. Or even compared to similar supports who can't even build for dmg, like Gorou. Mine is a hybrid build, where she is still more support oriented, but I didn't neglect the dmg sub stats. Which is what I would recommend for most people. Mine has Fav bow, 207%Er, 61/108 CV, and 1.5k attack. (With anemo goblet) I definitely think ER can be below 200%, but that would depend on team and enemies. Still agree with your overall points though. I'm just an advocate for building dmg whenever there's reasonable opportunity. 😁

I loved that 3.6 patch! I wish they would do more like that where we can interact with the characters during the event. I wish they'd flesh out more 4☆ character backstories. I respect the way you acknowledge what the meta is describing, but still go out to test it and come up with your own analysis, even if it's against the trend. ❤ I haven't build up my Madame Frauzan yet, simply because I haven't got an anemo DPS I want to use. I have Heizou, but refuse to use him simply because his character doesn't interest me, and I categorically dislike the concept of punching/kungfu martial arts style combat in Genshin. (Same goes for Wriothesley). It just doesn't "feel" right for me punching monsters in the face when everyone else is using a weapon. 😅

Na c6 is definitely a game changer,it turns her to a whole new character you can also become more flexible when building her by giving her sub dps artifacts instead of an ER focused build,Id say try changing your build when you reach c6 then you’ll see the huge difference in power

True! I could try building her more offensively now but hnestly I don't really see need for it; with her buff my xiao for example is more than good enough to smash through the abyss, so while more damage from faruzan of course wouldn't *hurt* it's not imo worth the hassle of rebuilding her 🤷‍♀

The reason Faruzan needs so much ER in C0 is because using her skill and charged attack takes too much time and extends your rotation. If you don't use her skill in your rotation, she needs over 300 ER.

I--- why on earth would you skip her skill just to save 1.5 seconds :o I personally think the charged attack is optional (assumign you use a fav bow of course) and I only myself used it to group small enemies, but the skill is lightning fast to cas and generates a lot of particles!

As someone who main Heizou and used Faruzan c0 for months now (recentlt got get c6 and Nahida!) I pretty much has the same experience. Her improved crowd control and longer burst are the most notable improvement for me, with the bonus crit damage and rate. But I was expecting more given how the c6 is praised ! Her ER requirement were okay for me at c0, given I gave her a 2 piece ER from a4 star artefacts and both Layla and her have a Favonius weapon. With 220ER she was able to burst on every rotation on a quickswap team.

Yeha I think that's what's kept a lot of people form building her, and I definitely think it's blown out of proportion! Her high ER needs are only a problem imo if you also want to build her to be a sub DPS (or even main DPS), as then the need for high ER might get in the way of building offensive stats. But the buff she gives to anemo DPSs like scara, xiao, and heizou is so considerable that I think investing in her personal damage is not a worthy struggle!

For his character: I don't feel any particular way about him at the moment 🤔 Initially I very much disliked him as well, but as that faded away I've been left a little ambivalent. Since I hadn't wished for him (at least yet) it hasn't prompted me to dig deeper into his character (which is usually what sways me one way or the other haha). As for his playstyle I found it enjoyable! He's one of those characters who I usually pick up whenever he's available in some fighty event, but it's not the kind fo playstyle that makes me "OH I MUST HAVE HIM!" if that makes sense :D

I finally managed to get a C0 Faru for my Wanderer on the Xianyun banner and I still have her at like level 50 with a 60 Fav and around 210 ER and she gets her burst back on pratically every rotation, rarely she doesn't... I was pretty scared with all the videos and guides dogging on her but even then at lvl 50 for my lvl 90 Wanderer on a double anemo/pyro team she's managing to perform really well, I think they just didn't think it was worth building her at all at C0 honestly.

I have a history with this character, my account is kinda new since i started around the middle of 3.7. I really wanted kokomi at the time so I was saving my primos up, then when her banner came i lost the 50/50 and went to soft pity both times before I got my kokomi. In the middle of all those pulls I pulled like 8 Faruzan's which was more than enough for her C6. It doesn't end there tho. I was pulling on Nahidas and Xianyuns banners and spent like 160 pulls in total and like half of the 4 stars I got were faruzans. I also really wanted cons for Gaming since I wanted to use him as a dps. I've even gotten her on the weapon banner one time. I can't escape her!

OMG faruzan to you is what ninguang is to me: to this date she's "c38" on my account 💀(yes I'm serious about that number) I was wishing a load on a double banner in 2022 when the curse started, and out of ~200 pulls 17 (seventeen) were ninguangs. She also haunts me on every possible banner 😂

yeah from damage perspective faruzan would buff Heizou's anemo damage significantly, while kazuha would only provide a buff to xiangling essentially (well bennett too but he's not there for that). That said depending oin what you're going up against, that super strong crowd control and swirl might be more beneficial against some enemies!

heh you're actually right! and to be brutally honest, I've always disliked that about cosplay wigs 😭 I get why they're made that way - it's a million time simpler - but it's one of the main reasons I probably wouldn't cosplay a character whose hair is in pigtails/a high ponytail even if I loved them to bits D:

I absolutely LOVE how you weave in clear/concise information about the character as well as their kit - and totally agree, I refused to build her because I don't like her attitude, even though I love Wanderer and he can be mean...but I find him funny. I also can't stand the back of her hair, the giant plastic looking triangle clips and the bottom of her dress looks so plastic, stiff and like it was designed for a toddler.....but since I love Wanderer and Xiao.....I have to use her lol Seeing the footage you show of her running into the acadamia with the stained glass makes me realize her dress (particularly the part between her back shoulders) is designed to look like the building itself - but if they would've copied the rounded shapes of the stained glass windows and given her dress more flow like Neuvillette's, she would've looked so cool

Personally, I love her C6 because with it you can move around and have no circle impact. Also the grouping is insane for wanderer, not so much for xiao. So tldr her cons are more important for wanderer than for xiao

i think the reason why everyones experience was worse is because they were speaking their experiences with Wanderer as their main DPS, who has considerably less energy generation, especially if he gets tossed around a lot. it's also not instant so you can't funnel energy into her, and lastly, they just simply didn't have Xianyun. having Xianyun helping with energy is a big boost, while she's only useful as a healer / furina activator in wanderer teams

Forget about 240% ER, I had 320% ER with Favonious Bow and My C1 Faruzan never got her burst back. Still waiting... (This is not a joke, she is annoying af before C6, would not recommend building unless you fighting trash mobs in overworld that give tons of energy, if you ever fight a boss in abyss that doesn't die in one rotation, you will realise how bad non C6 Faruzan is even with 320% ER.)

I just have the opposite opinion lol ^ ^ I like her personality very much especially in her hang out and Kaveh event and her background was really interesting to me and I always want to see her more often Unfortunately I don't use her like at all I have Wanderer and I play him a lot but even if I have her C6 and I build her really good I find her gameplay boring and not fun to use I rather play and suffer with wanderer in the abyss than playing her and since Furina release I finally have enough damage to play him when ever I want without feeling that I need to put her in the team ^ ^ I like her as a character and the personality is my cup of tea, but alas her gameplay feels like the most basic kit to play :(

in my opinion at before c6 shes very good but at c6 she actually feels like a complete support character since her last con basically does 7 different things : anemo CRIT DMG, a lot of energy via her c4 which makes her a battery, if youre dealing with smaller enemies youre now consistently grouping them which is nice unless theyre all spread out, since she becomes a battery now you can build her as a sub dps so she deals a bit more damage but thats not so important, she can utilise tenacity of the millelith now, her anemo debuff before c6 can be very inconsitent but now its very consistent, and also you dont need to use her charged attack now for particles which makes her feel much smoother imo, her c2 if you dont have c6 is almost a must tho since it makes her rotations way more flexible

yeah I think a lot fo people feel as you do 👀 Whereas to me she feels 'complete' at c0, and all her cons just make her vene better! Especially c2 is just fantastic. Also to be fair, since I have favonious bow on her, I didn't always use her charged attack even at c0, as fav would trigger consistently with her high crit rate and thus provide particles 😅

She still fully rubs me the wrong way personality wise, but I've appreciated watching many people using her and seeing how she does. She's not one of my least favourite characters, poor Faruzan IS my least favourite character which sadly colours every interaction I have with her. I hate her so much I haven't even done her hangout and I got her to c5 on Xianyun's banner and refuse to level her past 20/40 because I know I will never EVER play with her. I even skip her in trial character choices in events. I just don't want to listen to her - and her voice is fabulous, it's Faruzan I just don't like. Loved watching you see the difference between the various constellations in combat. It was great to see it in action that even if you DON'T have cons for her she's not dead weight in your roster. I still don't like her and I probably won't build her because of it, but it was nice to see that it's another case of community hype over truth causing false impressions of a character! 💜

Hahah that's such a mood! It's kinda amazing how strong a reaction some characters can trigger... did you play the Parade of Providence event? That's the point where I was finally able to get past her abrasiveness, such a shame that events like that aren't permanent content.

LFMAO this is *exactly* how I felt initially, and it was particularly upsetting because from the get go I thought her kit was very cool! I can 1000% understand and relate to not getting over her attitude though, and certain voicelines still make me feel violent on the inside, and so I avoid giving her too much field time 😎

I understand why you dislike Faruzans personality, i thought the same thing when she first released. I imagined her story mightve tied into important lore of sumeru or that her knowledge of mechanisms would aid the traveller and cast in the main story but for her to be reduced down to being known as “Madame” just makes her grating. I think this is in large part to the EN Voice acting (not to bash EN VA’s they do great) whereas she seems a little more loveable in JPN dub

Oh good point, I looked up the translations of her JP voicelines and it makes sense: there's not real equivalent to "senpai". In general titles and honorifics are no longer really as common in english which i guess is exactly why someone demanding to be addressed "correctly" (station wise) comes across as very superior 😄

Mostly the sane experience here - she's so abrasive and annoying that I was kinda happy to not have any anemo DPS characters so I could easily skip, but definitely found her less irritating in her hangout and loved the Sumeru festival event. Built her for my Heizou and she's been really fun, despite being only C0 until last week!

hehe I guess it helps that I try to avoid following any leaked kit infos and thus I don't get 'disappointed' when changes are made, as long as I find the character useable at c0 😁 It's true though, I know a perosn who ended up with c3 wanderer (no super lucky pulls either, mostly soft pities) chasing c6 faruzan and they have never built that wanderer 💀

Idk what game this girl plays, but if it's Genshin, she has some hottest takes ever and it's always white washing flowed characters design choices. C0 Faruzan with 240ER will not get her burst back even with fav bow. She might get away with all the favs you can master on other characters. The question is, do you have that many favs to drag behind Faruzan and she does 0 damage before c6. Btw extra skill charge doesn't give more energy because there is 6 sec particle generation cooldown. You would need to swap twice on her to get the particles and charge a bow twice, this woukd take like 10 sec alone, just for Faruzan.

Bestie did you miss the part where I said I played her at c0-c1 for the whole time (almost a year) untl this patch with 238ER and never had any energy issues 😂 (and yes, including single target bosses as well) Have you actually tried playing her with that much ER? Or are you just parroting other people? I just can't see how you'd be struggling that badly when I had no issues of either of my accounts; both c0-c1 faruzans, both about 240ER, both with fav bows, but the f2p accoutn only has r1. Unless you're completely ignoring her particles and just trying to collect them off field somehow. Re: her lack of damage; if you need your faruzan to be doing damage on top of your DPS, can I enquire about your actual DPS' build?? For me with either xiao or heizou, if you plop c0 faruzan on the team their damage skyrockets to the point where no sub DPS is even necessary 😂

@@saurusnessYeah, no shit that the suboptimal Heizou team with a favonius Bennett of all things, coupled with a suboptimal and extended rotation can get away w/ 240 ER on Faruzan. This isn’t even a matter of a misconception, this is just a matter of straight up math. You cannot reliably burst every rotation on her hypercarry support teams with ~240~ ER without messing something up, being gimping your Xiao’s energy or extending a rotation, or being in a matchup that’s very favorable for particle generation. Her quickswap teams (such as with Heizou) don’t have these same huge ER issues but those teams have significantly worse DPS anyways so of course people are going to complain about her terrible ER problems when they’re present in her best teams. Energy aside, her buff is not even impressive at C0 because the uptime is not enough. You either choose between bursting early and losing significant uptime on your carry or burst later and steal other buffs’ uptime from your carry. At C0 she’s a massively, blatantly handicapped character and she was designed this way very intentionally. You can argue she becomes a unit at C2, but Sucrose even outperforms her on Xiao teams and Wanderer teams have a myriad of supports that easily outpace C0 Faruzan. You can play how you want but to make some of these claims based off ✨personal vibes✨ ain’t it because you’re unknowingly not even in the same ballpark of rotation + assumptions standards.

I definitely feel like faruzan c0 feels "complete" for this game, and her cons are just really nice improvements 🤷‍♀ The hardest content (currently and for the past 3+ years) is the abyss, and this "suboptimal" team can easily 36 star it.... so what more do you want? What would be the point of pushing for more damage when there's nothing that requires it? If you simply enjoy that then that's great! But that shouldn't be the standard/expectation. Also yes, prior to c2 her burst uptime is short enough that you lose some of that buff if you do a full/almost full burst cycle with xiao, but as long as your xiao is well enough built I promise it won't hinder you much even in tough fights. As always, everyone's account is different of course and not everyone has the same luck with weapons or artefacts, but my own xiao is pretty average and that's more than enough. Either way, yes, I absolutely think that having fun is the most important thing when it comes to playing this or any other game, and while for some people part of that fun is mastering perfect meta in terms of teams or rotations, for others it is not, and I really don't see why that's upsetting anyone.

"practically" in a sentence like this would have the same meaning as "virtually" or "almost", and "seems" is meant to indicate that this is what I've perceived to be the general consesus with this topic, so I am saying that from *my perspective* "amost everyone *seems* to think...." I'm not claiming it's some statistical fact that almost all genshin players think c0 faruzan is unuseable, but if you spend any time in non-faruzan fan spaces, I'm sure you'll have noticed how incredibly common the sentiment is.
