I've used it on my 2011 C6 GS it works great. But what I did was add a strip or block of the heavy asphalt sound deadener is some of the problem areas that were prone to vibrations (ie behind the seat metal panels and in the hatch area (ie muffler area, heat and vibration). I then covered it all with the Frost King material which offered sound deadening and heat control. This made the console area cooler. Overall the leg and the console storage area was noticably cooler.

Another really helpful video. My 2011 C6 has this in its future. I would love to see a video of a ride since you have installed the sound deadening. If you already have one would you let me know?

Yeah, these are very satisfying jobs. I am currently adding sound deadening to the inside of my '02 C5 coupe. For the doors, I applied a layer of FatMat MegaMat to the shell of the door (where you used Frost King), then on top of that applied a layer of neoprene. I also have the VetteNuts sound insulation kit and plan to use most of it. On the rear wall behind the seats, I'm going with FatMat and neoprene. Around the tunnel due to the heat, the VN stuff, although maybe I should look at the FK stuff since it is sticky. VN kit you have to tape down with foil tape. The trunk area is mostly the VN kit (it looks like the inside of a NASA rocket LOL) with the addition of FatMat and neoprene over the wheel tubs.

If you could only insulate one or two spots what would give you the most bang for the noise buck? I was thinking along the transmission tunnel and the area behind the seats ?
@maintainersgarage2 жыл бұрын
Wall Behind seats for sure, tranny tunnel is more a heat thing. I would do trunk/hatch area.

How heat resistant is this frost king? Can it be used on fenders ,underside of hood etc. ---------I guess no flotation value.
@maintainersgarage4 жыл бұрын
Dan, On fenders yes. Underside of hoods, Frost king says YES. I have never used it on the underside of a hood, but Frost king lists car/truck hoods on website, so do it up! C5 tranny tunnel gets VERY hot and this used on the inside of the car cooled it down and it never melted or failed. If you want to plan to put this on the RV or new project, I will make a field trip and help ya out👍
