The stock exhaust is not a restriction until 700+ . They just really need the intake size opened up. You can make 675-700rw with just 5” intake, ported blower, and snout. On E is where they really wake up.
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
Everything with boost wakes up with e85 this isn't breaking news lol. I find it hard to believe there is no power to be gained at his power level from exhaust mods. I mean vettes are different from ford's but at the end of the day they are all combustion engines with forced induction strapped to them it isn't gonna be that different.

22:22 you should get a set of low profile “Race Ramps” (that’s the brand). I have a set and love them. Super light weight. They have a notch on the end so your dyno ramps (or trailer) sit on the notch which makes the top flush and it extends the rake. They are similar to what you are doing with the wood but will have zero movement. Mine were like $400 15 years ago. I use mine to get my lowered car on the alignment rack.

Stock fatback with a mild to wild switch is a perfect combo. Save the money on the rear section. Also LTs will come with mids. Kooks and ARH both do. If you want it louder (it’s already loud open with LTs) you can do the ‘muffler mod’ and it’s rowdy. Just some context, my buddy and I both had RPM z06s and mine with a modded ‘stock’ exhaust was louder than his corsa extreme. Moral of the story, stock rear section is more than fine and the valves are unbeatable.

Beautiful car Alex, you’re making me wanting to buy one for myself. QUESTION??? Drivability, which is better? Gen3 or ZR1??? THANKS
@YDBT4LIFE2 жыл бұрын
It's not even a question, The C6 zr1 is a better driving experience, even at low speeds. The issue is simply that the corvette gets hot from the trans tunnel area. And it sits extremely low. Also no rear seat. So i'd say the drivability aspect alone, corvette takes it and i hate to say it, it's not even close. Now a 6r80 S550 with 800 hp IMO is a better driving experience.

I thought about putting a guess in at 580-582hp, good to know that it would’ve been in a realistic ballpark…… I would guess that headers and a cam would be good for a 100hp (depending on the cams specs)
@HioSSilver19992 жыл бұрын
Why does everyone want to change the cam on these damn engines.....so much more left in other places for improving acceleration. A cam shouldn't even be considered until other things are addressed.
@rynev33922 жыл бұрын
@@HioSSilver1999 why wouldn’t someone want to make their engine pump air more efficiently, increasing torque across the entire rpm range, at the same time lowering boost pressure along with Intake air temperature. Sounds like win/win to me
@HioSSilver19992 жыл бұрын
@@rynev3392 it doesn't really work like that when the blower already is to small. For starters most pulley the blower. It's already to small now you're gonna overwork and when you pulley them it brings power lower in the rpm range....because that's how they work. But now you want to cam it. A cam is gonna do what??? It's gonna want more rpm because that's what bigger cams do. So now you want the blower to spin even faster except the blower has it's own efficiency range. See how they're working against each other.....sure you can get by with it on a dyno . But in real day to day circumstances and back to back pulls it don't work because of the heat that gets generated from running the blower outside it's efficiency range. These blowers tend to have decreasing boost curve once they're pullied with bolt ons anyway. That alone tells you they're to small and thus gonna lose a good top end charge. A 2300 is a starter blower for a ls. A good performance car like a zl1 needs a 3100.

Definitely does not take to boost like a Coyote, but if only a Coyote was put into a more lightweight package like the ZR1
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
Don't take to boost like any of the dohc fords. 2.3 tvs swapped 03 cobras go over 600 wheel on pump gas out of a 20 year old 4.6. Same w the shelbys big power with boost. Not limited to just coyotes. Coyotes make good power on lower boost because they run real high compression and they also pull high rpm. Give them the same compression as terminator and gt500s and spin them to 6500 and see what power they make lol. I get that is part of what makes a coyote good is the rpm I'm just saying gotta put it into perspective.
@Jimmyxsx2 жыл бұрын
@@midnight347 also the camshaft, the camshaft specs of a coyote are way more aggressive than the one in a stock LS9. Swap a higher lift cam on that Ls9 and you’ll see a huge gain even with the stock pulley. Thats one thing I like about the Coyote though, you don’t need to swap camshafts or heads just boost it and let her eat.
