Crazy how Ranger got 130 mph out of a stock C6 Z06. I'd figure the ZR1 with equal driving and conditions would get at least 135 stock.

Two things: 1) Ranger's 129.5MPH glory pass was at a MIR private rental and -850 DA. Because of the conditions those times are essentially impossible to replicate and not at all indicative of real world performance. The avg C6Z traps low low 120's; I've seen a lot of them run and have never personally seen faster than 124 and that was a good DA day.. 2) This setup was pretty consistent 132MPH but this pass was a hot-lap just 3 min after the prior pass per the slip so it was a bit heatsoaked. The track was hooking (rare) so I was hot lapping the car to advantage the prep while it lasted.

@@AP3D I regularly trapped 126.9 with my stock c6 z06 here in Montreal.Byt the d/a is excellent here. Cold air intake and a tune and was trapping 1 mph more or 127.9 . Bught a Zr1 after that but never ran it .

@@AP3D I ran 126.9 with a bone stock 2007 Z06 at Napierville dragway in montreal .We do have great da up here and cars run fast and trap high. Also owned a zr1from 2016 to 2018 and i loved it but never ran it at the track.

@@camirocz Yeah.. DA makes all of the difference. This car a few mods later went from 134MPH on a humid summer evening to 138MPH on a crisp fall morning (videos on my channel). Most of the year in the South the average C6Z is a 122-124MPH car.

How does the car run on the factory pilot sport cup 2 tires on the strip? Can it still pull mid 10's with a 130mph trap speed with something like a toyo r888 tire?

The factory tires are worthless once they have some age and/or if you start adding power. The first thing I did to this car was switch out the tires to R888R all around for street use. I found a 19x12 repro to replace the factory 20" rears. At the strip on a street.. Success entirely depends on the track prep/surface/conditions. The guys that run amazing times on factory tires are on world-class prepped surfaces; those times are never reproducible at your average test n tune.

Toyo 888 are circuit track tires. They could work but not as good as dedicated 1/4 tires.

It was tuned with HP Tuners but that was mainly to turn off the codes and adjust fan speed, etc.. I ran Hoosier 335/30/18 Hoosier DR2 at the track and R888R on the street.

Same as any RWD.. Traction control off, rev up, release clutch, apply enough brake pressure to keep the car from rolling forward while holding high RPM's.
