I never knew what to do in this game as kid I was just walking around and picking stuff and still had fun lol

Same, though I must have been about 3-4 at the time, I didn't even understand what a video game was 😂

Same, but I do think a remake with some modern sensibility (i.e. a bit less punishing) could be fun.

Finally I find out what you are supposed to do... 37 or so years later. :D Now off to look for a playthrough of The Sentinel...

Considering how basic the hardware was this game is a graphical masterpiece....

Still not even close to Last Ninja or Creatures 2. :)

Scott Lee Clayton It looked pretty good on all the 8 bit computers. Bloody huge sprites!
@bloodmapedit4 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBarrett1 No sprites involved, all graphics done on a hires bitmap, which means there can only be 2 colors per 8x8 pixel cell. Because the moving object is fairly large, it won't show the stepped movement that much. Other games that uses the same technique are Flunky and Popeye 1986.

@@bloodmapedit I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

As a kid I always wanted this game, got my hands on a copy of it but it didnt work. For a 10-year old, all the colours and cartoons were very exciting.

I loved this game as a kid also loved Flimbo's Quest. Played them again recently & yep the nostalgia factor wore off fast :(

This game was a typical C64 game. Hard, nice graphics and the controls were hard to figure out. But it was still fun like most of those good old games.

Wow. This game both captivated me and infuriated me when I was a child. Were explanation available in the manual because out of the box like that it's definitely not the most intuitive game you'll play. :)

I remember this game, could never do the eyeball crush, knew exactly what was supposed to do but could never make the bouncy thing land in the vat. Similar with boiled slimies as I remember, got them done and up the lift but couldn't make the weight land on the flame thrower thing to get rid of it.

Ha! I remember as a 6 year old I couldn't even get off the first screen. All looks so simple now.

This game is in highres gfx. Looks like ZX Spectrum then.
@rbrtck6 жыл бұрын
+Meine_Videokasetten That's right, and to elaborate, the C64 has a hi-res graphics mode that is nearly identical to that of the Speccy, with two colors per 8x8 pixel cell. The C64's resolution is a bit higher, though, at 320x200 compared to 256x192 for the Speccy. This mode is also notably used in the C64 ports of the _Ultima_ series of RPG games since by coincidence it happens to be well matched with the screen layout and handling of the Apple II originals. Most games used the C64's various multicolor bitmap and multicolor character (redefined) modes, however, as I'm sure you're aware (just mentioning this for completeness).

Hmmm, only real issue is you didn’t technically complete the game. If you hadn’t killed Berk, The Thing Upstairs is meant to say: AS A SUPER BERK I RATE YOU AS… CLEVER AND OVERPAID The message that usually appears when Berk dies is: YOU SILLY SUICIDAL LITTLE BERK So technically, you didn’t beat the game, since you triggered the Game Over Message
