This was very well done. Suffered through two other DYIs… started the job, then got annoyed and took a break. Found your video, and all the steps that were giving me grief were nicely clarified with your commentary and clear visuals! Thank you!

Excellent instructions. You probably save me from breaking the plastic line that run on top of the air cleaner box.

THANKS! The loosening of the air flow sensor I struggled to remove was nicely explained.

Thumbs up for convincing me to buy a C8 with simpler air filter change.

Excellent quality video, as usual. I really respect the time you take to share with the community the knowledge on a variety of helpful tasks. I've come to be a big fan of AFE's Dry Filter products. They are similar to K&N's reusable oiled media filters minus the need to use oil. (AFE also offers multiple oiled media fitlers, as well.) Warrantied for the life of your vehicle, you can tell by holding one in your hands that they are very well engineered and constructed filters; designed and made in Corona, CA. I wouldn't want to use any other air filter if it didn't first filtrate as well as the stock paper filter, but AFE says their Pro Dry S filters have 99.2% filtration efficiency. This makes them not only a better filter than the OE paper filter but they also have greater CFM flows. 11-10132 is the p/n for C7 Corvettes with LT1 or LT4 engine. K&N also owns a company called AEM who produces a lot of similar dry filter products for various applications, as well.

This was my first time doing this. I was working with another person and we had a hard time reassembling, getting the clips into the holes. I took the clamp closest off so I was reattaching the small piece and it went in easily, then reattached the clamp. The whole assembly, the hoses, etc. don't need to come off, just the piece closest to the filter.

@@TheWhatisright Sure it will, once owners see just how easy little things that cost lots at the dealer, they will realize it really is "DIY!!"

Replaced stock with k&n filter. Had rough idle and small vibrations while coasting but no CEL. The engine sounded a bit different as well. Drive it a fee cycles still no change. Replaced back stock filter and same. Do u thunk thr maf got dirty with the oil and improperly valculating thr air fuel mixture? Looking to do thr cnc maf cleaner as a possible fox but dont want to ess it ip even more

I have same air filter. When you installed originally did you lubricate the end or anything special??

Thanks for the comment. I watched your video again and didn't pick up any part number except the recharge kit. My KN filter is KN E-0665 It is at least 3/8 " higher than stock filter. If you could share KN part number I would appreciate it. Jim

Damn! What happened to the days of remove wingnut, lift top, replace air filter with new one! Whallah! I'm old. I would think you'd flow the water from inside out to push dirt out rather than push it in? Just an uneducated opinion/guess. I've heard so many thoughts on the oil flying into the MAF. Again, just what I've read. I'll be looking back on this when my time comes. I think the msrp on oem filter is over $100.

Agree 100 percent. The manufacture should make it easier not harder.

I have a 2014 Stingray. I bought the KN air filter but am not able to make it fit. Saw in another video that if you put saopy water on it will fit. KN air filter appears to be at least 3/8 inch taller than original stock air filter. Any coments would be appreciated.

My guess is you got the wrong size. Did the part number match up with what I have on my 2014 Stingray.
@frankw60593 жыл бұрын
According to instructions on the cleaner kit, the filter should actually be rinsed from the clean side out, which means from the inside out.

Can you film a full walk around of your car with the top down? I'm thinking of doing the Stage 3 spoiler on my 16 convertible but I havent seen any other stingrays / z51 convertibles with the big spoiler. Thanks!

You need to unplug battery before you unplug that mas air flow sensor on lt4 I didn't do it first my first time, my car through an engine code I'm running same filter My lt1 engine I didn't unplug battery and it was fine. Lt4s are very sensitive. If you don't unplug the battery, the car will know the mass air flow is unplugged and it will freak out and put car in limp mode when even you reconnect sensor when car is off.
