C7 Corvette ZO6 is Fun, Fast and Dependable for less than $100K! Let's talk about it! Randys Reviews

The Z06 has a furious 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 pumps out 650 hp and 650 lbft of torque. There is not an ounce of lag, not even in the performance mode Eco or Touring. The Z06 hits 60 in under 3 seconds with an automatic. Manual transmission hits 60 in about 3.2 seconds.
This is a great everyday car! Its totally comfy and tolorable when you place the performance mode to Eco or Touring. I used to drive a Mustang GT with a Magnaflow exhaust and I loved it! But this is 100 magnitudes better. BTW, 4 cylinder shut off only works in ECO mode.
Although I put mentioned things I loved about the Z06, I didn't get to put the clip in on what I didn't like (I have it but didn't edit it in). I did a video on things I don't like about my Z06, they were little things that just errked me but nothing serious. The one thing that I don't like that I use every time I drive is the 5th, 6th and 7th gears. The spring rate is too tight! When downshifting, upshifting or skipping gears its hard to get in those gears. For example, from 7th to 6th, you'll hit 4th. From 4th to 5th, you sometimes end up in 3rd. Its something that should be brought up and paid attention to. Would it stop me from buying a manual Z06? NO! I always think I'll get used to it and never do. I still miss gears. As you hear me shift gears on the straight aways, the automatic changes gears less than half the time it takes me to shift. That's how the Z06 gets to 60 in under 3 seconds under perfect conditions.
I love my Z06 and you will too! Of course I'd get a ZR1 but its about $50K more for what? 0.2 seconds faster, nicer front end and rear spoiler? Na, The tail creates too much down force, it may prohibit mph when hitting those straight aways.
The Z06 reviewed is a 2016. Since 2016 the Z06 hasn't changed other than a few more radiators to cool the engine, more colors to choose from (but then Chevy deleted some as well), and updated Chevy Mylink. But Chevy has increased the price $2,000 since the first C7 Z06 came out.

I know I'm 4 years late to this video, but in May 2023 I bought a 2016 Z06, 3LZ, convertible, auto, in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic with Kalahari interior.. I would have liked the 7 speed manual, but this checked off all the other boxes. It has body painted louvers and carbon hood. I am loving it. I came from a 1988 Corvette Z51, a 1991 Corvette ZR-1 (awesome), and most recently a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V with the LSA. (also awesome) I enjoyed some performance cars and I must say this Z06 is phenomenal. I like the performance numbers of the new C8s, but I love the looks of the C7s more. Thanks for the video!

Great vid bro and gorgeous Z06 you have there. Even though i love the Z06 i choose to just supercharge my C7 Z51 A8 and now im at 542 rwhp 534 rwtq with 8 psi on an ECS kit which is a Centrifugal SC. Love it!

Just bought a '16 Z06 Vert 3LZ A8 with 3K miles, like a new car...very happy...love the top down cruising and she is damn fast (not as fast as my 997 TT was which had a turbo build and approx. 750BHP)...I decided to keep this car OEM and just installed the Chevy Performance CAI today...noticeably crisper throttle response and quicker kick...I highly recommend it...warranty is intact and no drivability issues.

I believe the C7 Z06 is the best choice. It’s the last year with a supercharger and a huge V8. I had a C6 Z06 and the C7s performance and reliability is so much better! I use my phone for the selfie driving scenes , so it appears backwards. Good luck!!!

Amazing review. I am waiting for the new c8s before I make up my mind about a c7 z06 or a c8. The only thing I hate is the plain and out dated my link dash. Dodge and Jeep has a nicer display and features. You would think they would give it a overhaul by now. It's been mostly the same for 5 years.

Hi Gary. Thank you for watching my Z06 review. I got to be honest with you, I would wait for the new C8 Corvette Specs to come out before you buy a C7 Corvette. Get it a couple years after it's been out though, since the first year it can possibly have problems that need to be worked out. Can u wait? 😁 If you can't, I don't think you'll have any regrets since the C7 Z06 it's still modern-looking and has state-of-the-art technology in terms of suspension and engine. @@RANDsreviews The two day class is for all new Corvette owners. I paid only a small portion of the regular price. I was in the fastest group. None of us "hot shots" could keep up with the instructor but we hit over 100 m.p.h. many places on the track. I drove an automatic car. I realize there are other factors involved but none of the stick drivers were as fast as our "automatic" group. We were in manual mode (as you suggested in your video) and I shifted between 5500 - 6000 r.p.m.s. There is so much torque that there is little need to rev to redline. JMHO.

Drini absolutely! I love my Z06 with a supercharged 6.2 liter engine. Its really fun! Unless you’re into the c8s. There C8 Z06 is rumored to get a 4.2 twin turbo. Also may have an all wheel drive option. Either way you can’t lose.

Try to resist the urge to call this a supercar. It's not. If performance is all it took to make a supercar, you could buy a $5000 junkyard mustang, throw $50k in upgrades into it, and slaughter a Pagani. ~It doesn't have a carbon fiber monocoque. ~It's not extremely limited production. ~It's not $250k minimum. ~You don't have to travel hundreds or thousands of miles to find the nearest dealership ... ... Yeah, it's fast, so what. You can get a brand new 800 HP mustang for $40k at lebanon ford for fux sake. Quit trying to punch out of your weight class.

If it’s beating super cars it is a super car. The performance of my C7 Z06 manual car outperforms 99% of everything I come up against on the street. 911’s NSX R8’s nothing touches my Z06. Price has nothing to do with being a super car it’s about performance. Otherwise it’s just an overpriced super car. Stink hole. People with 250K super cars getting beat by Corvettes are just butt hurt.
