Hi folks. 1. Heat issues were due to non working intercooler pumps. Changing a faulty fuse solved the problem. TIKT cooling kit now workes perfekt. 2. Like the C55 it doesn´t like to shift when in rev-limiter. As said in vid, shifting at 6000rpm is sweetspot 3. Maybe the stability control was on. I cannot see the off sign in vid, maybe its just not on camera After this vid I did 120 more laps with it without any problems (until someone rammed me). TIKT package is definitely worth the money (and reason why I bought this car). Last but not least: Nürburgring Streckensicherung found the license plate and handed it to me 1hr later.

After the inspection with TIKT, they suspected the intercooling system wasn´t working properly (secondary cooling pump failure) Overheated intake air -> ECU gives extra fuel to cool with fuel -> unburned fuel in exhaust -> burning fuel in exhaust, which melted the plate away. Apparently a relatively common issue among C7 Z06. We were pretty lucky that the car did not catch fire.

The speed you were driving was probably keeping it from going hotter and not catching on fire, glad it's been solved though, was wondering why it seemed so lively at the beginning, then it fell off. The early Z06s also had general heat soaking issues. They corrected it by adding more cooling and better venting for those coolers. And for everyone saying that the transmission is shifting slow, they've always been like that. Quick upshifts, but very very slow, sloppy downshifts. plus get good quality coolers for the auto, Engine oil, intercoolers, diff oil coolers as well and better quality auto built is the way to go, especially if your going to track the car and anyway with set thermoset built into the oil coolers they only open up once the oil temps reach a setting you pick. so when your driving around on a average day, the thermostat will only open when the oils reach a set temp) So for a track day have the thermostat set at the best operating temps for the various oils used in the Auto, engine, Diff etc, plus with a fan operational to auto start when the oils reach more than a set rate as well. for extra safety for the engine oil, auto, Diff etc. cheers 🦘🦘👌👌✌✌👍👍

This car needed actually better introduction. This ist not a stock c7 z06 by any means. It is a custom tune from TIKT for approx €40.000 ! With race cooling for €20.000. Bilstein race suspension with unibal joints. It should be a track tool and not having cooling issues! In theory, the practice we just saw… But explainable if the intercooler pump failed. What should not be are too hot exhausts from the safety enrichment. Either GM did not do a proper job here, or the car is tuned and the safety functions do not work properly.

They make the corvette seem like it's the most insane car and you must have a death wish if you want to drive it. Flashing check engine most likely due to detonation and the computer reached the end of how much timing it can pull. Then of course it will go into a reduced power “limp” mode which is seen about halfway through the lap. Excessive detonation from high intake air temp which of course is from ineffective charge coolers. Can also happen if you don’t use 100 octane fuel for track use.

That limping was heat soak. Normal for that car on the track. From the look of it that’s a 2015 ZO6, before Chevy updated the car with an intercooler. The owner obviously has no idea of the in’s and out’s of the C7 ZO6.

I'm sure you know what you are doing but never forget that to cool a car, you have to put it in its higher gear for the speed that you are doing. You were going on the 2nd gear at 4000 rpm in the yellow flag zone. That's not cooling the car very efficiently. 90 km/h in 7th gear would do the job for the engine, transmission and gearbox. Even for one kilometer

I dont understand how no company is making high end action camera, there is only "cheap" gopro that is utter trash and no company is stepping up to the fairly easy task of making a better action camera than gopro.

Srs question, thx ahead. Everybody talking about faster and faster shifting times in the transmissions. But the engine Rev still needs to match, doesn't it? Is it really that reasonable to have light quick shifting, when you have tonnes of inertia spinning around in the engine? In most cases we don't even have dct, we have a torque converter. So no matter how fast your auto shifts, the torque converter will never be that fast and there will always be a small gap where power transmission is not at max efficiency. Is this all marketing bs? Pls help otherwise I won't sleep anymore

I literally argue all day with C7 and Camaro ZL1 owners in the US about how garbage their transmission is. They will tell you that it is perfect in auto and there is no reason to ever use the paddles, which is downright embarrassing for sports cars.
@MikesLARE
@MikesLARE 11 ай бұрын
2017+ Z06 cars have much better cooling and a ever so slighty raise hood for better heat dissipation. The 8speed autos in C7 are not great on track, weak point is the paddle to shift delay. They are quick to upshift and make great noises doing so at full throttle. But by modern DCT transmission standards let alone the ZFs being offered at the time these fall short. Shame they never figured out how to stuff the GM/Ford developed 10-speed auto that worked well in late model year 5th gen Camaros and performance tuned mustangs.
