I honestly don’t think the c7 corvette will ever get beat in terms of looks, the car just looks so good it’s up there will high end foreign cars imo, I’ll be getting the zo6 when the c8 comes out and it depreciates a bit, it looks way better then the c8 in my opinion!

I agree, the ZO6 does make a great daily driver. It makes every drive, be it to the food store or the local Home Depot, a fun time. I daily drive my 2015 ZO6 and it currently had 46,000 + miles on it, every one with a huge smile.

@@HorsePowerObsessed After watching the video on what you paid for the vehicle I'm curious to get your thoughts on negotiation. The dealership that has the 17 on the lot just brought it down to $69,991. It's a 2LZ with some add ons that make it closer to the 3LZ. I think the previous owner wanted to order some custom elements like the carbon fiber dash, splitter and ground effects package and a few other cosmetic mods. He also put the ceramic brakes on it. They seem pretty resistant to bringing the price down anymore - even with the C8 around the corner. Any thoughts?

I've had my 2013 C6Z for 6 years in October. And I've got nearly 65Kmi. Zero mechanical and electrical failures. It's been totally bulletproof. Everything is wearing very well. I've had 3 oil sample tests so far and the LS7 shows no appreciable wear. It's been on the GW bridge, Throggs Neck bridge and the LIE several times. I mention this because if mine's any indication, you should be in years of super serious fun without the issues of those confections from Europe.

The only issues I had were this year with a bent front rim from a pothole, and a stone hit to the A/C condenser. Not the car's fault. Sports car gods weren't smiling down on me this year..lol..I've had superb service. I've replaced: tires (front 2x), front brakes, battery, wipers, did a 7 system fluid change at 45Kmi (not part of regular maintenance. But, if one plans on keeping the car for a long time....) and air filters/cabin filters. That's it! Best damn car I've ever owned! After my past experience with American cars, no one is more gobsmacked about it than me. But, no..No sensors yet, no engine service soon light, no DTCs at all. If you do plan on picking up a C7, I'd get a 2016 or newer. They made a lot of improvements. And it does take GM about 3 model years to get most of the bugs expunged.

No you don't have to. The 17's and op have a slightly updated intercooler brick change but nothing drastic. if you're looking to lower temperatures as much as possible then sure you can but you need to actually replace the entire supercharger to get the full effect. As long as you get a manual you will not have problems with overheating on the track.

Another great video Justin, except watch the "old guy" comments. LOL I'll be looking to have a word or two with you again next year at Carlisle. :-) Oh yeah, next year I'll have company with me. I will ask you to "say hello to my little friend." He's harmless, would give the shirt off his back, baby sit your dog etc. etc., and goes by the name of Mongo. He also comes in handy when I have to change tires, do a brake job and change oil. No floor jack is necessary. LOL Let me just say I love the way your ZO6 it's optioned out. Not necessarily my color or wheel preference, but that would not be a deal breaker if your were looking to sell it. As to your mods, would you have a ceramic coating on your list? Also, you don't have the front and/or the rear tow hooks installed. You know they add at least 10 hp and help scare off the competition. LOL Save the Wave, it helps keep Mongo happy and we do NOT want to upset Mongo!
@HorsePowerObsessed5 жыл бұрын
Lol the tow hook comment was too much! I don't have a ceramic coating, but I do use Gyeon wet coat which is a spray-on hose off application that leaves behind a very similar style protection to ceramic coating. One of my older videos shows me putting it on my beater car. The water doesn't bead at all until it's applied and then the water beads up anytime it touches anything on the car.

Great review! First thing I had done to my '17 GS was xpel 100% of the car, with a ceramic coating on top. The rims are coated also, washing this car is so easy..Water just 'sheets' off, especially with the masterblaster. Your ZO6 looks awesome with the tinted widows! It will NOT pass our Vermont inspections, and the fines are steep! All I could tint was the two little windows & the hatch glass. Are you going to any more events this fall ? I'm planning on attending the OC Maryland Corvette event on 10/12 -10/13.

i have 100% xpel on my 19 gs as well ($3500) and was thinking about the ceramic coating. However, the only thing it really needs is new ceramic brake pads as the dust is terrible.

If you do it yourself it's actually pretty cheap. I have another video showing a way to save some money and how to change the oil in a 2015 Z06. Overall it costs me about $38 for full synthetic oil and the filter when I do it myself. Check out the video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZSuoGCeiKx0Z9k

Hey Justin!! I've had my C7 Stingray for almost 2 years but I'm getting an upgrade bug. Prices seem a bit high right now, but I'm also benefiting from that with my Stingray Found a 16 ZO6, 3lz z07 package manual. Original sticker 105k 13k miles. Listed for 80k. From what I'm seeing that seems to be within the range. I would love to know your thoughts fair prices right now?
@HorsePowerObsessed3 жыл бұрын
That's a little bit high in my opinion. I have noticed that the manual transmissions have gone up in price a good bit but that still seems a touch high. I'm thinking somewhere around 73 to 75 Max.

@@HorsePowerObsessed thanks for the reply!! Other factors, it's really close to my house and if the exact color combination which is the same as my Stingray and your car for that matter. Already has paint protection and I can tell they paint corrected first. It has absolutely everything I wanted and it was only an hour away. Worth a few extra grand. But dude, I I found the power very manageable until I turned the traction control off lol which is how I'm use to driving my stingray. Stability control always on, but traction off. This thing will be a huge adjustment to throttle management. Do you leave all the nannies on or do you take traction off?

my 19 gs snickered at 77k and picked it up for 66k, not sure how much better pricing will get even if the C8 comes out. Honestly, I wouldn't wait and i'd pick one up this fall at the latest because gm generally stops incentives on previous models after the fall. Who knows, the C8 may sounds terrible compared to typical corvettes or not be as practical for grocery and golf clubs and daily use. Let me end by saying Cadillac is the gm brand that is trying to re-brand itself so i can see the C8 being a Cadillac and not even a chevy

by the time my warranty is about to expire, the c8 will hopefully be out for a while with different variations so still think now is the best time to pick up a C7, makes no sense to wait and buy not only a new model but version that is basically a production prototype for first couple years.

I personally feel the same way. I haven't driven a 911 but I've driven a lot of other higher-end "supercars" and I would still say the Corvette is a better value. Well I can't speak specifically to the 911 I would say it probably fits the patterns of the rest of them.

Does the Z07 package (especially front end lip spoiler) negatively affects top speed and acceleration? I mean it looks like it produces loads of drag which is good on a race track like Nurburgring but same time when you want to top speed the car and do some rolling stuff Stage 1 front splitter would actually be better.
@EK-rr2md5 жыл бұрын
Yes, Z07 affects top speed.
@HorsePowerObsessed5 жыл бұрын
Yes it does affect top speed, but it's made specifically for track use to keep the front end down. If going for a top speed run you would want stage 1 aero to avoid any drag.
