Was glad to see Tucker put on long sleeves when he finished tacking and started serious welding. My brother after 50 some years of welding with exposed arms and v neck shirts now goes to the doctor every 6 months to get the next crop of small skin cancers removed. Wasn't really thought of when we were young, these days we know more about the effects. I hope, you constantly remind him to cover up, youths tend to think they are invincible till it is to late.

Tucker would benefit with having a Welding Helmet with Air Purifying Respirator outfit. It would save his lungs with how long he has been welding breathing in all those welding fumes. You only get one set of lungs, Tucker needs to look after his.

I can remember when the stockholders would give a discount if you could take long stock - plate up to 24ft - now the *£$$%& so & sos charge extra for everything. My mate used to knock a 20 - 24ft flatbed lorry body in a week from his very cramped shop - starting opposite to you, i.e. plate on the floor and building up the cross members on top and once fully welded go through an unbelievable performance to turn them over by hand operated chainblocks. Though he's the same as me - over 70 but still working - he's given the big stuff the elbow in favour of smaller items for thermoplastic roadmarking - some of which has made it to the States.

@sshaw791211 ай бұрын
When you weld it underneath make you a L shaped block and a wedge to go underneath the L block. Weld the block where you need to suck it down and use the wedge and a hammer to tighten it up. Break the L block off with a hammer and move it where you need it next. This is a very handy welders tool to tighten something up when you are least expecting it. Good luck. But that is gonna be one heavy ass trailer. My guess is it might be for a tow truck roll off bed or forklift trailer. 😂😂
@greggb141611 ай бұрын
Clinton, Re: that time-lapse footage of Tucker welding up the bed frame.., i was waiting for the sun to fade away in the background thru the open shop door, and the black of night upon the shop, and the lone spark of light, being poor Tuckers welding the only light…, hahaha…! Great video, Thank you sir.

Forklift pulling the long channel out - running into metal with a tire (almost) - I slit a tractor back tire in the field on a long chunk in the weeds. Rats had to buy 2 back tires to replace the one. Crazy. Stocking. Crazy driver. 🙂 Humm - winter - working on a truck cab in the shop might need a long trailer. Hard to figure.

Hello Clinton, you said something odd at the 06:28 timestamp about you C&C folks not being Professionals and after a bit I figured it out. Like Mike and Aaron (Dirt Perfect) did by hanging a spoon from the exhaust on the 850 J ,you were creating a "comment generator", because if you aren't Professionals, I don't know what that is. . I suspect the new deck will be fitted to one of your 5 ton military trucks, like the wrecker you made. Tucker is an amazing welder!

Kevin holding down the diamond plate reminded me of something we had at work. Greenlee had a tool box factory in Louisville. In the larger boxes we had a small gal that would jump inside and push the sides tight as the welder would weld. At another factory Swenson Spreader that I worked at for a while, there was a guy that got inside the big V boxes (that hold salt for plow trucks) and held down the side plates with his foot as the welder on the outside welded them to the longitudinals. Human weld fixtures.
