I live in Santa Rosa and was about 5 when these happened. Santa Rosa is a beautiful city 50 miles North of the Golden Gate in the heart of the wine country. You may want to see the new documentary The Truth about Jim. Really good reporting listing out all the local landmarks you nailed it!

I've said it before and I will say it until I'm blue in the face, if a child under 18 is missing idc if they're presumed runaways" if their missing they should be treated as a missing person. Legally they cannot take care of themselves therefore it doesn't matter if they chose to leave or not they should be looked for immediately! Also, this is the first video I've seen of yours and your voice is so soothing. I also appreciate your focus on the victims and who they were rather than just their names and the way their bodies were found. It's so important to remember these are people not just bodies.

Hitchhiking cases are so interesting to me, and it's mesmerizing to watch you because you're old school Hollywood pretty and you speak very well. 🤍

I live in Santa Rosa and the media did a fantastic job of burying this case. In the 80's I was here and NEVER heard of it. I'm sure the police screwed up and made the story disappear. Also 8:53 is Bellam Avenue, not Bell. It's the first street you can take after the Richmond Bridge in San Rafael, and there was a Motel called Litchfield's Bermuda Palms that was like $12 a night and where we would buy drugs. You could drive through the parking lot in 30 seconds and come out with whatever drug you needed. It was crazy times. Now, it's a furniture store or something. That was the worst part of San Rafael and where Herbie Hancock band rehearsed in the 70's.

Thank you for covering this case! ❤️You don’t hear it get much coverage. It always feels so weird hearing about it because it happened near my town, although the Gypsy Hill Murders happened right in my hometown 😅 So many missing persons cases in 1970s CA it seems!

Omg, I can’t believe I’ve missed this. I’ve waited so long for someone to feature this story. I lived in SR then (the majority of my life, actually), and I went to school with Yvonne and Maureen. I don’t remember meeting them, but my mom was friends with Maureen’s grandmother. I wish this case would be solved, it was haunting for us kids (as well as Zodiac, Ted Bundy, etc). The skating ring was supposed to be a safe place for us.

I have to wonder what makes a thirteen year old run away so often? Did she have bad influences in her life leading her away or was something going on that she wanted to escape or was she facing mental health crises? Any of these could've put her directly in harm's way.

Do you bleach your own hair or get it done by a beautician?? It's always so perfectly platinum! Never any yellow, but never any purple either from toning shampoo *chef's kiss*

I’ve managed to get my hair purple, INTENTIONALLY for Halloween, by putting blonde shampoo on my dry hair & leaving it on for about 30mins. 🙂

Moral of the story: Don't hitchhike take a cab, Uber or bus to get to your destination.

Uber wasn't around then. It was so normal to hitchhike in the 70's.

Gooday, I think "John List" might have been the Zodiac killer He murdered his 3 teenage children his wife, and his mother then went into hiding for 20 or more yrs till he was arrested around the time the Zodiac killer went off the map and YES he could have been that serial killer they were looking for. From memory, The Zodiac even drove an old truck with a wooden camper on the back!
