Hi Caitlin, I can’t believe you covered this case. I’ve asked a couple of true crime channels to cover this before. I knew Shaun as she was well known in my friend group. I’ve always thought Richard (Bones) Gittens was involved somehow because of how messed up his face was. It wasn’t a trip & fall face in my opinion. I called the police & they said they were already looking into him but as you stated he supposedly had an iron clad alibi. I don’t know why I never suspected her uncle who died in 2012 or 2013 with any knowledge he had. They said they got DNA from him before he died but I don’t remember hearing if anything came from that. I’d think if they found a connection we would have heard. I don’t know what Bones is like today but back then we were all so involved in partying & trying different drugs that who knows who Shaun ran into at one of the many bars that served underage drinkers. The composite kinda looks like Bones but back in 77 most guys I knew had long hair. And Shauns cousin the bouncer at Capri would have known him so he wouldn’t have been unknown. If I ever hear anything about her case I’ll definitely let you know. Thanks for bringing her story back into the light, I would love justice to be served even if it’s just a name being divulged.

Thank you so much for commenting on this, I really do appreciate any support but especially when it comes from someone who knew the victim personally! My aim is always to try and get their story out there in the most accurate way possible. There really are so many divided opinions out there regarding to both Richard Gittens and Shaun’s uncle, and I did find there was a lot of information regarding the DNA collection and details that have not been shared publicly (atleast none that I could share anyway!). I have done a ton more research on this case -- going back to the original news coverage. I do not believe the uncle did it at all. Carol Gannon -- would you ever want to talk about the case as you see it? I think the Bones Gittens/friend angle has been downplayed. Imagine being disemboweled while still alive. Poor girl. I would put money on her murderer being the uncle. Besides that odd remark that he made you said one theory was that Shaun was pregnant. What if the uncle was behaving inappropriately towards Shaun and she became pregnant with his child, and the disemboweling was an attempt to hide that?

Exactly the same line of thought here. If her roommate was right that there was an argument about money, she might have asked for money for abortion, or to keep silent. Either way, he is highly suspicious. I wonder if today's technology is capable of determining if she was pregnant from her tissues?

This was my cousin, Shaun. My family has their own theories, but I think that the person that killed her, and supposedly raped her, got away with it and a few other people were killed the same way. I don't believe it was my uncle though some disagree ( I think the person or people that killed her were experts at taxidermy, or was a doctor... it's sad, and I pray for her soul.
