The Rancho Don Carlos in Winnipeg was a happening nightclub and bottle joint. The biggest acts who came through town played there. In this television special, Cab Calloway is backed by some of the best Winnipeg jazz musicians of 1959. A true rarity and gem I'm happy to share.

A biographical movie just called "Cab" is long overdue!!! This enertainer was the greatest of his time and merits a movie...it will be an academy award nominee/winner if done right!!!

Met him and his daughter at the Bristol Grill, where I was the manager in Washington DC he was performing in Baltimore at the harbor lifeful man you wore the most beautiful, bright, yellow suit handsome handsome John his daughter was quite beautiful, very charming. It was a pleasure meeting such an icon, jazz world. 🌟🌟🌟🌟💖

Where's that funny Reefer Man, or Kickin the Gong Around, St. Louis Blues? No sex or drug references on black and white Canadian T. V., I just recently started being a heavy Cab fan in the past couple years , but knew since a kid he was the King of Cool.
