Beautiful. I cycled in that area in April, 1986, just before the Chernobyl disaster. (37 years and 74 lbs ago😉). I remember stopping at a small town called Levens, where the proprietor of the restaurant shared my Surname, (i’m Dutch-born Canadian, he was from Belgium) which I had emblazoned on by self-constructed bicycle. Sadly, the bike came apart the following year, after 50,000 kms of good service

@@RailRelaxation Personally I do not like videos with steam trains. Everything gores too slow with a lot-too much of noise. But I agree that line would be even more beautiful when filmed in summer. As it is filmed now it is a bit dull. Which is what you get when video is made at certain period of the year. I would generally avoid filming videos in late autumn - early spring period as nature with it's colors does not add extra quality to the video. With rare exceptions I am not a fan of winter/snow videos either. Perhaps in most cases is the best part of the year to film videos autumn when colors explode and add a great portion to the general impression of the video. Perhaps I can phrase that videos that are filmed in autumn are all ''scienic'' automatically.

As you said, the colours are different, the vegetation...will do it again and then compare. I love the autumn colours. As I come from Brazil, for me those changes of seasons are just amazing. j'empruntais cette ligne tout les étés du temps de la relation Alpazur quittant Chambery le matin, (origine Genève rame RGP) avec une correspondance à Digne. c'était à chaque fois un plaisir de prendre le temps de savourer ces magnifiques paysages des Alpes. Il est regrettable que ce parcours ne soit plus possible par le rail de bout en bout aujourd'hui. c'est le progrès !!!

Belle.journée ensoleillée d'hiver, enfin si l'on ne tient pas compte des + 30 m..de brouillard. Mais c'est normal en cette saison et même au début de l'automne comme je l'ai pu apprécier une fin de septembre 87 dans les Gorges du Cians.

Les concepteurs de la ligne ont fait du beau boulot dans la montagne. A quand un film sur la ligne Gap (Veynes)-Grenoble qui vient de rouvrir et qui a la réputation d'être la plus belle ligne de France ? Avec la neige qui couronne les sommets cela doit être de toute beauté.

Superb video of an area I know well, having cycled several times in Provence. I really enjoyed following the road from Notre Dame past Puget-Theniers and Entrevaux which I've ridden a few times. Makes me think I must get back there before I get too old to ride (I was in my 60s when I went last time in 2008). I will attempt to get there again before I reach 80 as I'm still going well! Thanks for the video it brings me some great memories, and gives me a reason to plan another cycle tour in Provence. Next time I will make time to ride the C. F. P. too.

Hello👋 Le train des Pignes qui connaît quelques difficultés depuis l'effondrement de l'un de ses tunnels, celui de Robines, en 2019, sur des ouvriers...1 mort...😔 La ligne a failli être complètement fermée mais les habitants ont protesté... Puis la région parle de supprimer certaines navettes quotidiennes, mais les habitants ont protesté... Du coup, des fonds ont été débloqués pour rénover le dit tunnel... Ça fait 4 ans !! Une Partie de la ligne est en vapeur de Puget -Theniers à Fugeret... Les locomotives sont alimentées avec un mélange de charbon et de grignons d'olives. Le grignon étant composé du résidu des olives après passage au pressoir... Très calorique !! 😉 Pour le nom des "pignes", soit c'est parce qu'il était tellement lent sur certains tronçons que les passagers pouvaient descendre ramasser des pommes de pins... Soit parce que les chauffeurs, en manque de charbon, se servaient des pignes pour remplacer celui-ci dans la chaudière.😅 Pour une première vidéo en France, tu as choisi une superbe ligne imprégnée d'une formidable histoire . Les couleurs sont magnifiques, même dans la brume.👍 La ligne de la vallée de la Roya est également superbe... Je pense que les travaux sont terminés après les inondations de la tempête Alex en 2020... D'ailleurs on constate bien les dégâts engendrés, dans ta vidéo, lors de passages le long du Var et de la Vésubie ...🧐 Merci pour cette magnifique vidéo.🙏 @samedi...😉

A great winter view, showing people who only know Nice because of the Riviera that there's a whole other world if you head north. A return southbound trip jn the summer would bring a totally different palette of colours. Some people might have seen these trains from the last time the Tour de France came to Nice. It was the end of August 2020 (a delayed race due to Covid), and the first stage took 3 laps into the hills and then back along the Var valley. Each time the racers arrived back on the valley road, there was a Train des Pignes waiting on the track next to the junction, looking to get maximum TV exposure by accompanying the peloton back to Nice! Timetables be damned!

For those who love viaducts and mountains, the most beautiful section to visit by train and car is between Annot and Thorame. Going on the shore facing Meailles, Meailles, we have a simultaneous panorama on 3km of the line counting 3 of the most beautiful viaducs of the line. We also see the big village perched on the cliff that we do not see from the train. And finally the longest tunnel of the line with 3.5km (cut in the film) whose construction should be a feat at the time...

Interesting the power supply would seem to be third rail system, but the third rail disappears in the " Double-Tracked" station after Madeleine. Presume third rail is supplemented/supplanted by on-board battery power ? Or diesel-electric ? Take it all back. The third-rail is part of some supplementary train guidance/stabilisation or redundant cogwheel ? What a change in the weather in the valleys. What on earth causes the weather to be like that in just that limited section of the track in the valleys ? Whoever financed the building of the line must have spent a fortune on tunnels, bridges, re- inforced embankments. Do we know the history ? I am amazed how many deciduous trees there are in this area, given its a Mediterranean Climate. How does the authority to use the track system work, once the trackside signalling runs out ? It did not look like a coventional token system for single track ? - absolute weirdness, all of it.

i wish the owner of this channel would give some narration history about these little villages and things you see sitting alongside the tracks the scenery is beautiful but im a history nut i want to know things about what i'm looking at . i went ahead and subscribed but its little boring not hearing a voice and the video could slow down just a wee bit so that as your talking you keep up with the video as you narrate each story i realise this may be a lot of work on your part but it would make a much more interesting video to watch i wish the tv stations would catch on i would rather watch this than soap operas sitcoms game shows and talk shows

Mein Bruder hatte damals eine Eisenbahn Eine Märklin ,seit dem sehe ich die Züge gerne Fahren . Ja Angefangen hatte zuerst damals als Nachtprogramm Die ARD jede Nacht würden dann die schönen Züge der Schweiz gezeigt .Damals hieß es auch schon Mitfahren im Führerhaus .So ungefähr hieß das .Aber war immer zu kurz gewesen .Hatte mich geärgert . Man könnte dann schon nicht mehr abwarten bis zu Nächten Nacht
