The Tauernbahn! Haven't they ever thought of doubling the route? The single-track line is beautiful! It goes up from Schwarzach to Badgastein and then the Tunnel and goes down into the Drava Valley or Drautal which is a valley I know well! It seems that the railway knows no obstacles and descends gently to Spittal! Beautiful line as always! We will ask the Austrian Railways to give you a prize!

Da gab es eine Blockstörung, weshalb er auch an der Abzweigung Lendorf halten musste. Dort hörst du auch das Tüten des Funks. Da hat der Triebfahrzeugführer definitiv vom Fahrdienstleiter einen Befehl diktiert bekommen bezüglich diesem Selbstblocksignal. Er hätte natürlich auch das Ersatzsignal schalten können, das wäre aber eine zählpflichte Handlung und würde zusätzlichen Papierkram für den Fahrdienstleiter bedeuten. Bei der Abzweigung Lendorf kommt es immer wieder vor, dass die Stellautomatik der S-Bahn aus Lienz den Vorrang gibt, speziell wenn die etwas vor Plan unterwegs ist, und den Fernverkehr vom Tauern her ausbremst und einen dispositiven Fehler verursacht. So scheint es auch hier gewesen zu sein. Das hat der Fahrdienstleiter anscheinend rechtzeitig bemerkt und die Fahrstraße für die S-Bahn zurück genommen. Durch das Zurücknehmen der Fahrstraße wäre auch der Selbstblock selbstständig auf Halt gefallen (die beiden Blöcke hängen da zusammen). Dadurch war das Signal eben auch auf Halt. Deswegen gab es eben einen Befehl über Funk bei der Abzweigung Lehndorf. Hätte der Fahrdienstleiter bisschen besser aufgepasst, hätte er die Fahrstraße für die S-Bahn gelassen wie sie ist und den IC in Pusarnitz bereits ins "Gegengleis" geschickt. Das ist dank den 100er Weichen dort sogar ohne großen Geschwindigkeitsverlust möglich und dann wären eben IC und S-Bahn bis Spittal nebeneinander gefahren. Ein Prozedere was eigentlich sehr oft vorkommt. Je nachdem welcher Fahrdienstleiter halt Dienst hat.

Good evening, is there any signal expert who can kindly explain to me why in Austria the dwarf signals are found closed by trains in transit while in Switzerland (with the exception of the stations where the European system called ETCS Level 2 has been activated), Italy etc. are passed by trains in the free passage position? No...Traffic plummeted after the Yugoslav war, so there is currently no need to extend the north ramp any further. But yes, there were plans to tunnel the line at Bad Gastein. However, this was rejected due to fears about the groundwater in this aera.
