Thanks for the summary. Here are my added two cents: Noelle: I'll save you the searching time. I think the reference is biblical, the suffix "-EL" means of the god, it appears in many biblical terms like Israel, Gabriel... the issue is, it's not originally Greek, it's from proto-Semitic languages that predates semitic languages like Arabic, Hebrew and Amharic. EL, was an adjective that means "Elevated/transcendent" and it's where the description of God in Hebrew "Elohim" and Arabic "Allah/Al-Elah" came from. But since the first documented copy of the bible was Greek, that's what made the NieR team say it was Greek. Yudil and Sarafa: I can see where Yudil's name came from "يُضِيء الظِّل" (prounounced: Yudi' elDil) in Arabic means "To illuminate the Shadow". I'm still trying to figure out Sarafa's name, They're both probably a reference to a poem or a story from Arabian Nights, I'll let you know when I find out. 063y: I always assumed it was "OBEY" written in l33t, I guess I was wrong 😅 Saryu: nothing to add, it's just cute that her name came from "Salut" 😃 Thanks for the translation mate. Looking forward to all your videos. And to commenting on them when comments become available 😅

on 063y and F66x's names, I do find their justifications suspiciously too literal, just like how Si'F for Noelle's weapons has a 'clean' lore explanation (Sister's Fangs) that appears appropriate, but also a suspiciously direct overlap with the Norse goddess Sif, who is a goddess associated with fertility (aka the many 'sisters' of Noelle), the earth and its bounty (Noelle's quest for a quaint, farm-like rural homestead overlooking golden fields, even more direct since Sif was a golden-haired goddess whose hair was potentially symbolism for wheat) and family (Sif is etymologically linked to *sib*, meaning family, as in the English *sib*ling). I have an old conspiracy theory that 063y and F66x's names are actually references to the Book of Revelations (lit. 'Obey the Mark of the Beast,' from Revelations 13:16-18 'It... forced all people... to receive a mark... so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. ...That number is 666.' NIV). F being the sixth letter of the alphabet, and x being commonly used as a 'mark' for acknowledging or agreeing to something on forms or contracts, F66x's name can be read as FFFx, FFF-mark, *666x*, or *666-mark*. That whole section of Revelations may have even more interesting parallels, but this is getting overlong already. This also ties back to Noelle, since Noelle's story implies that any sisters with a 6 in their serialization seem to behave aberrantly or erratically, necessitating their sealing away, hence why our Noelle appears to have been the last of the sisters left.

Thanks for the live stream summary. I'm glad to know that my theory about nier reincarnation is an Automata timeline. When I played People and the World two weeks ago, seeing 2B's sword, reading the dialogue and knowing that my beloved characters 9S and 2B were dead made me cry like a child. So far I haven't found anything that connects Ending E with reincarnation. I'm even reviewing the content of the timeline to answer my questions, but the theory about the divine tree in version 1.22 of Replicant and the administrators is getting very strong.

If Argo is the only sinless character, what in the world is Fio’s sin?! Am I forgetting something in her scarecrow story?
@aegis7669 ай бұрын
'sin' is a strong word, but the most appropriate for the themes of Re[in]carnation; it's important to remember that the Japanese concept of 'sin' is different from what we in the West may be familiar with through Christianity. Fio's sin isn't a crime she did, per se, but more a trauma she carries, and that is her being the problematic 'heir' to the royal family, and her life as a Scapegoat. Argo is sinless because, as is illustrated in his RoD story, he doesn't really carry lingering regrets and views his behavior as unproblematic. *His daughter* certainly doesn't see it that way, at least for most of her story, but that's her burden, not his.
@mr_skellington71459 ай бұрын
@@aegis766 that is a very interesting point. Sin is represented here as a general corruption of the soul, and not necessarily an improper action. Fio inherits her sin (or corruption of the soul) where Argo lived fully with little regret, and therefore his soul is free of that burden. I see much more clearly now the difference, although I still maintain that the line between Argo’s and Fio’s sin (or for Argo, almost-sin? Sin-adjacent?) to be very thin. Fio was corrupted in part due to others’ spite for her as a Goat person, and Argo’s daughter held animosity toward him. That said, Fio underwent much more strife due to the animosity toward her, so I understand why Argo is still “sinless”. Thank you for clarifying, that was very helpful

Theory: I had thought that what we were calling "timelines" were actually reiterations of humanity trying to survive the snow virus in the same timeline. So there's so alternate timeline or multiverse. It's just history repeating cyclically on the same timeline, in the same universe. Kind of like(Spoiler alert) Battlestar Galactica. Each reiteration ends with humanity becoming extinct and humanity restarts again. Perhaps the conclusion/Nier 4 will be humanity finally breaking the cycle and learning to survive the machines, aliens and the snow virus. Guess we'll find out

Ending E you don't know what happened to any of the characters, so you don't know why 2B's sword is there and you don't know what happened to 2B,9S and A2 as ending E meant the destruction of GOD and you eliminate the storytellers, aka the controllers of their fate.
@Si_Ek_Az9 ай бұрын
@@luckydannumber2 We know why the sword is there. The reason is kind of silly but at least it kind of makes sense. The notion of god of the Yokoverse being gone is wrong considering the fact that we're seeing entities associated to god pop up throughout the story more. I'm talking about the fact that the latest chapter states to Hina and Yuzuki that humanity in the Nier timeline went extinct in the year 10K AD. Which is inconsistent with that's been established thus far. Either the data is corrupted or this is a straight up retcon

@@Si_Ek_Az I wasn't clear on this, If you read Zaregoto, Monogatari series, etc. You will get a understand on this, it's a philosophical and metaphysical sense and until you get it, it will be a mindf***. It's similar to Zaregoto, you can alter the timeline a bit but you must complete the main story or functions it's fatalism (how you can choose to do the endings or sidequest in the game) The "god" is referring to the writers of the story, however since you have killed the writers of the androids stories. Their stories have ended, period. (essentially killed their authors/controller of their fate) You cannot and will not know what happens to them and there is no writing for them past Ending E. It's disappointing that you don't know if they awoken or remain deactivated. Think of the data corruption is similar on how Deshu Kaki tells his story and acts in Monogatari, it can either be true or false depending on what you believe (hence similar writing styles). It's allowed to be inconsistent because of the corruption where human's where it say humans can be resurrected in the moonbase, but from the previous game they are extinct and can't be resurrect, which one is true you don't know. The fake story could be the real thing.
@luckydannumber29 ай бұрын
@@Si_Ek_Az Depends on how you view GOD, in this sense, the writers are the fatemakers like RE:CREATORS the most simplest examples. You have "killed" them in Ending E, therefore, no more can be written about them, whether they are activated or not is up to the imagination. For the second part, watch Monogatari, Deshu Kaki's arc in owarimonogatari, you may have a clearer understanding them (It takes a while to get your head around this though).

I find that Nisosin and Yoko Taro writes very similar stories. That Levania story reminds me of the SINOalice chapter where everyone's desires turned them into monsters, oh and Yoko Taro died in that world and the RED Girl is very similar to Alice in SinoAlice (similar to the global ending of Sinoalice). The Monogatari stories are great as long as you can look past the fanservice (like a certain other game in the Nier series *cough* Automata *cough*). I don't like the multiverse theory but timebranches similar to the Jiangshi Arc where Aaragi saves Mayoi and invertly turned everyone into "buggy vampires" in that arc. So I am going to throw my predictions on the table. I find that the bug in the game is similar to Deshu Kaki in Monogatari where the story could be true or not, from the story of the sword and this taking place after ending E. I would wary that story told in the last Chapter was true. What could happen is that the story presented where the machines kill all android could be wrong, it might be the opposite where the androids were the ones that wiped out the machines and built the structure and this could be true because of the numerous bugs in the cage and the system and the story being told is corrupted like how Kaki tells his story in owarimonogatari.

I have a few hypotheses about the next Nier game: 1) I think the most likely route is a direct sequel to Reincarnation, sometime in the future (how far into the future depends on the true ending of Reincarnation) with a new cast of original characters. 2) the intersection of what I think the devs will do, and what I want most (haha) is a story following 2P as the protagonist as she takes up the mantle of “savior of humanity,” where we see her finish the quest or see the resolution of the return of humanity, whatever that looks like. 3) the last route I think they might go down is a game centering on the cast of Reincarnation (or the surviving cast anyway heh) I think regardless of the characters chosen to lead the story, the “return” of humanity will be something along the lines of uploading humanity’s data into androids or special type machine lifeforms (e.g. Adam, Eve, 2P). This would represent a physical evolution of humanity, and a spiritual or metaphysical evolution of androids or machines, as they develop a “soul” that is capable of the full breadth of human emotion. I’d love to discuss any of these ideas with anybody who wants to 😊 Thanks for reading; we’ll see you next time. Take care.
