i truly learned something after watching this video. i feel dumb to an extent because im a do it yourselfer type of guy and just now hearing about this filter...i know for a FACT mine has to be absolutely disgusting, and this also explains why i have such poor air flow...lol smh.... thanks for the video bud. i gave it a well deserved thumbs up.

like your video, by any chance you would know there 2009 chevy malibu LT cabin air filter is located? I took apart the glove box didn't really see anything like a door i could open to change the filter.😆

What year is the car brother? I'm trying to do a 2010. Supposedly they don't come with one but they have a space for one. So the store can't find a part #. So if yours is a 2010 or close I would know likely the same part#. Thanks.

Not sure on a 2011 as this is for a 2013-2015. check under the passenger side wiper blade. Often times GM puts them there.

My daughter's car had a very noisy fan that sounded like it was out of balance. There was a mouse nest in the fan itself. There was a spot in the air intake that looked like it was for a filter, but no filter was there. She bought the car new. ???

Sorry I don't have one. Just go on RockAuto there are tons there. AC Delco are usually what I use.

I'm wondering why they bother putting an arrow on the side of the filter when n you would normally put it in with the words right side up anyway. No where does it say what the arrow means; up, down or air flow. It's just dumb not to confirm what the arrow is suppose to indicate. Perhaps it explains in the instructions that accompany the new filter?

Generally arrows are in the direction the flow is to go

@@CMF6301 no. But two suggestions. 1: you can spray Lysol into your intake vent while the fresh air circulation is on inside the car. Just saturate it. Half a can or so. Might knock out some of the sour smell. If it gets worse....I considered option 2: get a Dremel and cut the plastic where it has the lines. See what's behind it. Replace and then duct tape it and put the glove box back. I have yet to have the energy to do it though. If you do, let me know how it goes!

I think GM said every 20000, but I just do mine in fall and spring. Never had a problem with mould or excessive clogging doing it twice a year

So, I checked my cabin air filter on my 2011 LTZ. It seems the access door is MOLDED to the housing. NO ACCESS TO THE FILTER. There is writing on the area of the door housing that says, "Cut on dashed line to add filter" Really! WTF Chevy. I am now inquiring about a door and filter kit. I cannot imagine what this 13-year-old filter is going to look like. I just replaced the blower motor and had to cut that housing out as well. (all our service records said the checked the cabin air filter...right)

My 2010 Malibu glove box look nothing at all like this. There is simply no way to remove it.

It's crazy that it doesn't. Never heard of that happening in a modern car lol
