My family owns a vernacular adirondack cabin like this in a community of about 40 others. i’ve lived in our cabin and be aware that these things look pretty in the pictures but they’re very, very cold. you’ll spend an untold fortune on heating/cooling. because of ice storms in this area you will regularly be without power. once i didn’t have power for three months due to an ice storm. this isn’t easy living.

Outside p Outside plug looks like a 30 amp outlet for plugging in an RV to shore power. You would need a different set up to run the cabin off a generator including a switch that would islolate the cabin from the power grid..

Unless you can get a bank loan or pay cash, this isn't the property to buy. This is more like a "rent to buy" situation. It's two parcels 1 mile apart. Access to Tract 3 is questionable to me. Imagine that you can't live in a place or do much of anything for 15, 20, 30 years until it's paid off. The owner financing documents would have to be extremely detailed to include what happens if the buyer passes to the great beyond. Does the buyer lose everything - what happens to their equity? As it is paid off, does the buyer own a percentage of the property or its value or does the seller retain 100% until the final payment is made. How often and how long would I be allowed to use the cabin until it is paid off. Does 100% of my payment go toward the price or is there a "processing fee" that doesn't count. I've never been involved in owner financing so these would be my concerns if I were to consider buying it.

That's not oak I'm sure, the fireplace is called a count Rumford fireplace, in regards to the dear Prince that before the walls were even put up before any of the beams were put in before anything they had to pour the concrete slab that was around the fireplace and that's probably deer that actually did walk across it they didn't bring a deer inside the house

Love the cabin! Only thing that really bothers me, and maybe it's just me I don't know, is having the this huge breaker panel right in the living room on the fireplace wall which is an eyesore. I see this in so many cabins and small homes. I know it can't go in a closet or bathroom but I'd rather it be in a kitchen or hallway out of sight.

If that's the septic, then it's failing and the Leach field needs to be replaced. It's possible, with its age, it could be a cesspool with no concrete cover. But regardless, the standing water in the hole means it's not leaching into the soil and needs some work.

I had to stop watching. I'm always dreaming of owning a home, but this place is in the wrong state and I likely couldn't get all deliveries I come to rely on out there. But the place would be just great for me, depending on the heating and cooling costs. I wouldn't even care if it went back to the Original owner after I died, since I have no children or anybody to leave it to. I just want a place I could be Garrantied I would have to move out of for the rest of my life. But I would need the place to be near where I live now, to continue to get all the help I've come to rely on here in North Carolina. Otherwise the payments at $500 a month would be just great for me.
