We have had a ton of comments asking what the music is in our video! The fiddle tune is “Leaning on Everlasting”, performed by Zachariah Hickman.
Today, we take you with us for a full day in town! We did our best to show you a realistic trip to the closest WalMart-sized town. It is not the most fun thing to film in front of perfect strangers and risk ending up as an “influencer in the wild” but we hope it shows what a town run looks like for us!
We are going to be updating again on the cabin next week and probably the garden the following week! Now that a long list of visitors have come and gone, (and our lovely virus), we should be able to pick up progress again. Levi’s brother will be joining us on the work soon and that is going to help a ton.
THANK YOU as always for watching.

Henry is getting sooo big. What a sweetie. Your trip reminded me of when we used to live there and drove up to Anchorage. It won’t long before you’ll be ready to move in that cabin. What a great day that will be.

Well as you have a big stove for a small cabin R30 will be fine for instillation. Compressing the r38 would be more expensive to get about the same R value. Skeeter season is upon you, good luck!

I regards to insulating the ceiling. Having baffles between the roofing and the finished ceiling is a necessity. The air movement through the baffles helps to keep the insulation from getting wet due to condensation. So it's better to sacrifice a couple of inches of insulation. All the best on the building. Henry is really a cute little guy!

Nice break. I enjoyed the road trip with you. If groceries are expensive here in Idaho, which they are, they've gotta be high up there. I hated mosquito season at the cabin. Big ones in the spring and the little buzzards in the fall. You are near a lake though as we were when we lived there so it makes for a HUGE breeder field plus the woods. Are you also having more rain? Take care. See you next time.❤

Are y'all using the foam board s or isolation isolation.? See what the ratings on the different types of isolation. And if you already bought the kind you loose r ratings or what ever you called that when you squish it . maybe build a extra layer of wood to house the isolation and cover it to allow enough space for the insolated layer to not be squished. . a lot of people I have seen building cabins in Alaska use foam board

The reason the mosquitoes are attracted to you is because of your bodies PH levels. The more alkaline you are they will leave you alone.
