I'm really interested in wether or not the deck above was noisy. Was the balcony just as good as being higher on the ship?

I didn't actually stay in this cabin so I can't speak to if it was noisy. It looks like this particular one is either beneath crew area or the dining room, so if I were picking one, I'd go with one a few cabins further back. However, I have stayed in cove balconies on the Horizon and on Jubilee and I loved both. It's fun to be close to the water and I didn't feel like I missed out because of the lack of glass. I prefer to be lower in the ship so it was great for me.

Is there a lock on the balcony door?

I don’t remember specifically as I’ve never used it, but I believe this class of ships has a dead bolt type lock at the top of the door.
