I don’t know how in the world you can look at an odd piece of furniture and vision the transformation you give give to them. As you was putting the finishing touches on it I kept thinking what a wonderful bakers bar that would make (if the bottom shelf was only half as wide so a stand mixer could fit in there.) there would be so much room in the bottom part for pans and bowls etc. I guess I was thinking that because I hate for my mixer to take up so much counter space and my batter bowls are in one place, my pans are in another for storage sake. I love that this piece even had casters to make it movable. You always amaze me.

Cute hutch. I stenciled different rooms In house and did work for a friend also. The trick is to use a stencil brush and pounce the paint on Don't overload with paint, in fact go light. You can reposition stencil and do a second coat on the stencil when first coat is dry. Better two times than one which will run. Always amazes me when you want something, you just of whip it up!! Nice!

I think the reason the furniture was shorter years ago was 2-fold - not only were houses and rooms within them much smaller, but people in general were much shorter than they are today. I love how this cabinet turned out Mary - It's really awesome. I also absolutely love the stencil and the green color you used on the back of the top piece of the cabinet! It is just gorgeous. You never cease to amaze me at the visions you come up with for furniture and decor pieces. They always turn out stunning.

I wasn't sure about this one but you certainly made it beautiful...like everything else that you upgrade. Also, to help stop your paint from running under your stencil, you could try applying a thin layer of a clear shellac or mod podge (let it dry) over the stencil before applying the paint.

I know it’s super time consuming but to get crisp lines on a stencil, do a layer of white paint, or whatever color the background would be, before your stencil color. It’ll form a seal that’ll keep the top color from bleeding under the stencil. Hope that helps! It looks great!
