Hi friends, I hope you enjoy the video! Here is a tutorial for my "finger knitters" 🤩 The cable knit is a lot easier than it looks and it a lot of fun to do. To learn the technique, we're making a 16 x 16 inch pillow cover but I've added details at the end of the video if you want to make a blanket instead or as a companion piece. I'm planning a few blanket patterns for the coming weeks ahead but wanted you to have this option in case you need something now. If you have any finger knitting pattern requests, be sure to let me know! xx

Is it possible to make the middle chain a different color? If so could you post that on how too video please 😊 and thanks for your very easy to follow video and thanks for explaining the purl method it was very easy to understand in your video. ❤

It is but that will entail changing colors in the middle of the row. It’s very fiddly with thick yarn like this . I have a long list of preplanned videos so I won’t be able to demonstrate this soon. But if you look at my tip video where I share how to change colors for stripes it will give you an idea of how it’s done ❤️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpXbc4dvaaebp5osi=ShCbHi9Tdt1IW8YW Watch at the 3 minute mark

Hello Roz you're now playing my music . I've tried the finger knitted scarf and it came out beautifully , now I'm going to try this pillow exactly the way you showed . It's really grand and I love it . Thanks for a great lesson today . Do you have a pattern for a winter hat you could make ? That would be swell for our cold winter weather here in Canada 🇨🇦 . Thanks for sharing & have a great day with the boys .

Thank you , Angela! I need to keep playing with the hat idea. The last one I tried to design came out looking like a mushroom 🍄 so I need to keep working on that 🤣😅😅❤️

My kid says the really thick yarn is not good for afghans/blankets because when the knots tend to fray when it's washed. What do you think?
@PlayHookywithMe
@PlayHookywithMe Жыл бұрын
I can only speak for this brand of yarn - I’ve washed mine several times with no issues so I would have to disagree. Using a magic knot to join new skeins helps eliminate the issue with the ends fraying as well . 👍🏻💕

I loved the video! Thank you for making this so easy to follow! If I dont use the same brand, how many yards would you say I nees to use?
@PlayHookywithMe
@PlayHookywithMe Жыл бұрын
The best way to figure that out is to compare the yardage/meters on the balls. 32y/29 m per ball for this yarn. That way you’ll get a good idea if you need more or less 💕

How would I make this pillow 18 inches
@PlayHookywithMe
@PlayHookywithMe 7 ай бұрын
There’s a couple of things you could try. You could add 2 or 3 knit stitches to the beginning and end of the sequence (instead of 1) or you could refer to the blanket pattern and resize it to fit 18 inches. I think just adding extra knit stitches to the beginning and end of the row will do the trick . Use a tape measure to help figure out the length and amount of chains you’ll need to reach 18 inches then adapt the pattern with the little diagrams I share in the video 👍🏻💕
