I have a voltage detector like that too. I have never heard it go off yet but I haven't exactly tried sticking it into an outlet yet either. What does it take to set these things off? I can get my small pen detector to go off by rubbing it on my shirt. I might add that I am a green horn to being a cable technician but I am picking it up very quickly. Thanks for your vidoes dude! ... 2 years later! lol
