I’m an ex BR driver, that’s a very elevated driving position. I think I would be a bit uncomfortable so close to power lines, nice video.

When this train first ran in service, there was a news article that drivers were 'complaining' about that, especially when entering tunnels or other low constructions. I like it a lot, great view all around!

This is a former water pump house recently restored and burned down earlier this year. And again later this year. Most probably vandalism.

Haiho all..... At 6.13, going towards signal 480..... That's a nice one, when it's your first few times driving here with your mentor. You don't know the traject just yet, and are over focused. What you do know is, Signals are standing on your Right side.....but, if it has an arrow towards the track right from you, it is not meant for you. But, it's your first time there, you scanning everything, and all of a sudden you see that Red signal, but not yet the Arrow that points to the right, so you apply some brake..... Your mentor is asking what you're doing, which you explain, after he burst into a laughter.....Yept, this one gets the New Ones every time..... Bij 6.13, rijdt richting sein 480..... Dat is een leuke, wanneer het je eerste keren zijn dat je daar rijdt met je mentor. Je weet het traject nog niet, en bent over gefocust. Wat je wel weet is, seinen staan Rechts van jou.....maar, heeft deze een pijl richting de track rechts van jou, dan is deze niet voor jou bedoeld. Maar, het is je eerste keren hiero, dus neemt alles in je op, dan ineens zie je het Rode sein, maar nog niet de pijl die naar rechts wijst, dus je zet een remming in..... Je mentor vraagt wat je aan het doen bent, wat je aan hem uitlegd, waarna hij in lachen uitbarst....Yept deze krijgt het elke keer voor elkaar bij de Nieuwelingen..... Grt, mcn Wilco, sinds 23-04-2024..... 😃😃😃

De ICM, met het ouderwetse Bruin/ Oranje interieur, is verreweg mijn favoriete trein. Daarna Mat. '64 vanwege die heerlijke motorbrom bij het wegrijden.

Mooie video Meester. Gaaf om oud materieel tegen te komen. In Amersfoort staan ook veel leuke treinen nog. De Koploper is er nog maar verdwijnt ook over een paar jaar. Bedankt voor deze nieuwe video 👍😁

Hi Vincent. Sorry, I didn't quite understand your comment on the dirty window. Are you saying that you didn't notice it until you reviewed the video? If not, then if the dirt was on the inside (unlikely), why not use your sleeve, handkerchief or other cloth you may have around the cab to clean it? If on the outside - well, I wouldn't expect you to look for a long-handled brush and a bucket of warm, soapy water, but you could have used the windscreen wipers! The steam engine was "born" the same year as me - and probably "runs" better!

Outside of the ICM is always dirty: close to catenary dirt. Wipers useless. Too high and too close to high voltage to use a stick with a brush...

Did you go off shift in the station or did you drive the train into the yard? I noticed that train was not going farther with the no boarding signs. And I did not notice anybody indicating they were going to take your place at the controls. {^_^}

Passenger service and shunting shifts are seperate shifts, so I did not have to drive it to the yard.

@@CabviewHolland There are times I see the passenger service driver drive the train on into the yard. I bet those times match days the train driver has parked in or near the yard and this is the last trip of the day's shift. (In the US "being sensible" has nothing to do with how railroads work so this convenience drive could never happen here.) {^_-}
