Hi Lyn! I enjoyed today's episode😃💞That reminds me to do a clean up around my cacti pots and do some pest control☺️Thanks for the reminder Lyn! Oh, another thing I like to do is check what cacti need a repot and go plant-pot-shopping😄I'm not rushed in Winter and have time to think about pots, and I like to buy potting medium and mix it and bag it ready for Spring and store it in the outdoor shed. It's been freezing cold here too Lyn! I'm wearing my inner-lined Winter pants and Winter boots🥶HAAA!

Another inspiring video. Thank you Lyn. Let's hope spring will come soon. In the meantime, we can use your extremely useful tips. Did you mention earlier that you use a magnifying glass? Which type do you think is best? There is a large selection online.

So happy you loved the video Emilia :-D I use a little magnifying pocket loupe that is especially for jewellery, I bought it from Amazon about 10 years ago, its a metal hand held one that works really well for checking for 'beasties' on our plants, there are quite a few on Amazon around $5, thanks so much Emilia for your wonderful comments and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Tuesday XXXX

Pests are dormant right now. I keep spiders as pets and I keep my feeder bugs in the fridge because it puts them to sleep. They can stay cold for many months and will start wiggling once I set them out on a table. My spiders won’t eat a bug unless it’s live and moving. Did you know ants will keep aphids underground in their colony to keep them warm. Then once it warms up the ants will carry the aphids back to a host plant to let them feed. Ants harvest the aphids poop. It’s sweet. The ants feet have a paralyzing agent on the aphids. They’ll walk on the aphids all day. All the aphids can do is feed. Ants will also cut off the wings of an aphid so they won’t fly away. Ants are pests farmers. It’s a food source If you do have any pests they won’t come out until spring. It makes sense since most plants loose their leaves and go dormant themselves.
